Singapore-based Lake Energy has secured USD 80 million in financing to support the construction and development of renewable energy infrastructure across the United States, the company announced on September 15, 2026. The funding round was led by investors described as having extensive experience in the energy infrastructure and clean energy sectors.
Allocation of Proceeds
The company stated that the proceeds will primarily be directed toward solar power projects, battery energy storage systems, and related power infrastructure in the United States. Specific activities covered by the financing include project development, engineering and construction, procurement of energy equipment, deployment of energy storage systems, and the development of supporting infrastructure.
Beyond generation and storage assets, Lake Energy identified grid interconnection and power transmission infrastructure as a dedicated area of investment. The company also said it would use a portion of the funds to strengthen capabilities in energy project operations, data management, and digital technologies.
Lake Energy indicated that construction will be carried out in phases, timed to align with the progress of project development, permitting, and grid interconnection processes. The company added that it intends to continue collaborating with local partners across the engineering, power, and energy sectors as work advances.
Strategic Rationale
Lake Energy framed the financing round against a broader shift in global electricity demand, citing artificial intelligence, data centers, and advanced manufacturing as sectors driving consumption growth.
The company described the United States as a key global energy market and stated that the ongoing upgrading of energy infrastructure in the country presents a significant opportunity for long-term investment.
Owe Kok Liang, a Director at Lake Energy, commented on the significance of the capital raise. "This financing will provide significant support for our efforts to advance the development of renewable energy infrastructure in the United States," he said.
"We will continue to invest resources in solar energy, energy storage, and related infrastructure, driving project development through our capabilities in technology, engineering, and long-term operations."
Owe added that rising global electricity demand underpinned the company's strategic direction. "As global electricity demand continues to rise, we believe that building more efficient, stable, and sustainable energy infrastructure will become increasingly important," he said.
