Meta Hyperion AI Campus

Meta is developing the Hyperion AI Campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana, as one of the largest artificial intelligence data center projects ever announced in the United States. Backed by an estimated USD 27 billion investment, the campus spans more than 3,600 acres near Holly Ridge and Rayville and is planned to deliver up to 5 GW of power capacity upon full build-out. The development will provide approximately 4 million square feet of data center space and is being constructed in phases from 2025 through 2030. 

 

In late 2025, Meta formed a joint venture with Blue Owl Capital, which holds an 80% ownership stake while Meta retains 20% and manages construction and operations. The largest data center campus by Meta is designed to support large-scale AI training, inference, and supercomputing workloads using hundreds of thousands of next-generation GPUs. 

 

To meet its enormous power requirements, Meta is deploying a behind-the-meter energy strategy that combines on-site natural gas generation with up to 1.5 GW of solar capacity, creating a dedicated power ecosystem for the facility. In May 2026, the state of Louisiana announced USD 3.3 billion in tax breaks for Meta to build Hyperion AI Campus.

Project Jupiter (Stargate)

Project Jupiter is a planned 2.45 GW AI data center campus under development in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, near the Texas border. Developed by STACK Infrastructure and BorderPlex Digital Assets, the project serves as a major component of OpenAI's Stargate initiative and is expected to support Oracle's large-scale AI computing operations. 

 

The campus will consist of four hyperscale data center buildings and is backed by an estimated investment of up to USD 165 billion as part of the wider Stargate ecosystem. To support its enormous power requirements, the facility will operate on a dedicated microgrid powered by Bloom Energy fuel cells rather than relying solely on traditional grid infrastructure. 

 

The project also incorporates closed-loop, non-evaporative data center cooling technology to minimize water consumption while supporting next-generation AI training and inference workloads.

xAI MACROHARDRR

xAI is developing MACROHARDRR, a hyperscale AI data center campus in Southaven, Mississippi, within the Greater Memphis market. The project is being built inside an 810,000-square-foot warehouse at 2400 Stateline Road West and represents an investment exceeding USD 20 billion. Developed and operated by xAI, the facility forms part of the company's rapidly expanding AI infrastructure network that supports training and inference workloads for its Grok models. 

 

Retrofitting and construction activities of the largest data center project in Mississippi began in early 2026, with initial operations already rolling out. Combined with xAI's surrounding regional assets, MACROHARDRR is expected to contribute to a broader AI computing platform approaching 2 GW of capacity, making it one of the largest AI-focused infrastructure developments currently underway in the United States.

Galaxy Helios Campus (Expansion)

The Galaxy Helios Campus Expansion is a large-scale AI data center redevelopment project in Afton, Texas, transforming a former Bitcoin mining facility into a gigawatt-scale AI computing campus. Developed and owned by Galaxy Digital and fully leased to AI cloud provider CoreWeave, the project is located on a 1,500-acre site within the ERCOT power market. 

 

Galaxy Helios, one of the largest data center campuses in Texas, has secured 1.6 GW of approved grid capacity and holds long-term expansion potential of up to 3.5 GW. Backed by a USD 1.4 billion debt financing package and USD 350 million in equity, the development supports ultra-high-density AI workloads with rack densities reaching 130–140 kW per rack. 

 

Construction and retrofit work began in 2025, with the first 133 MW phase delivered to CoreWeave in April 2026. Additional phases are scheduled to roll out through 2026 and 2027, supporting large-scale AI cloud services, LLM training, and high-performance computing workloads.

Stargate Frontier Campus - Texas

The Stargate Frontier Campus is a 1.4 GW AI data center development under construction in Shackelford County, Texas, as part of the broader Stargate initiative led by OpenAI, Oracle, and infrastructure partners. Developed by Vantage Data Centers, the USD 25 billion-plus project spans approximately 1,200 acres and will include 10 single-story hyperscale facilities totaling 3.7 million square feet. 

 

The campus is designed for ultra-high-density AI workloads, with rack densities expected to exceed 250 kW per rack. To accelerate deployment and avoid transmission constraints, the site will be powered primarily through a dedicated behind-the-meter natural gas microgrid engineered by Voltagrid, capable of scaling between 700 MW and 1.4 GW. 

 

Construction began in late 2025 and is progressing through multiple phases, with the first facility expected to enter service in the second half of 2026 to support OpenAI's large-scale AI training and inference operations on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Stargate Michigan - "The Barn"

Stargate Michigan, known as "The Barn," is a 1.4 GW AI data center campus under development in Saline Township, Washtenaw County, southwest of Ann Arbor. Developed by Related Digital in partnership with Blackstone and fully leased to Oracle for OpenAI workloads, the project represents the largest economic development investment in Michigan's history. 

 

The initial infrastructure investment is valued at USD 16 billion, while Oracle is expected to spend an additional USD 30-40 billion on servers, networking equipment, and AI accelerators. The campus spans a 1,000-acre site, with three single-story hyperscale buildings totaling 1.65 million square feet occupying roughly 250 acres. 

 

Power will be supplied through a long-term agreement with DTE Energy that includes utility-scale battery storage to support grid reliability. Construction began in early 2026 following regulatory approvals, and the first facilities are expected to enter service by the end of 2027. The campus is being purpose-built for large-scale AI training and inference workloads running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for OpenAI.

Project Freebird (Stargate)

The Stargate Milam County Campus, internally known as Project Freebird, is a 1.2 GW AI data center development under construction in Burlington, Milam County, Texas. Developed by SB Energy, a SoftBank-backed infrastructure company, in partnership with OpenAI, the campus is designed as a fast-track deployment site within the broader Stargate AI infrastructure network. 

 

The project spans approximately 595 acres and includes an initial 548,950-square-foot facility divided into four high-density data halls capable of supporting AI workloads exceeding 50 kW per rack. Phase 1 construction is backed by a USD 470 million contract, while total campus investment is expected to reach between USD 1.8 billion and USD 3 billion. 

 

Site work began in late 2025 following local tax incentive approvals, and major structural construction is well underway. The first phase is scheduled for delivery in October 2026, with additional capacity coming online through 2027 and 2028 to support large-scale AI training and inference workloads for OpenAI's next-generation models.

CloudBurst San Marcos GigaCenter

The CloudBurst San Marcos GigaCenter is a planned 1.2 GW AI and high-performance computing campus under development in San Marcos, Texas, between Austin and San Antonio. Developed by CloudBurst Data Centers with Evolve Holdings overseeing engineering and construction management, the project spans 706 acres across Hays and Guadalupe counties. The campus carries an estimated investment value of USD 14.5 billion and is designed around 10 to 12 hyperscale data center buildings totaling roughly 3 million square feet. 

 

To support its power-intensive AI workloads, the facility will use a behind-the-meter generation model supplied through a long-term natural gas agreement with Energy Transfer's Oasis Pipeline, reducing dependence on traditional utility interconnection timelines. Construction began in November 2025 following local development approvals and incentive agreements, with deployment planned in three 400 MW phases. 

 

The first 50 MW tranche is expected to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2026, while additional phases will ramp up through 2027 and beyond to support AI training, HPC, and large-scale inference workloads.

Stargate I - Abilene Campus

Stargate I, also known as the Lancium Clean Campus or Crusoe Abilene Campus, is the flagship deployment of the Stargate AI initiative and one of the largest AI infrastructure projects currently operating in the United States. Located in Abilene, Texas, the campus is developed by Crusoe Energy Systems on infrastructure originally planned by Lancium, while Oracle Cloud Infrastructure operates the computing environment for OpenAI. 

 

Crusoe secured USD 11.6 billion in financing to support the project, which is planned to deliver up to 1.2 GW of capacity across an eight-building hyperscale campus spanning roughly 1,100 to 1,200 acres. Several facilities are already operational, with an estimated 200-300 MW of IT load currently active and additional buildings progressing through construction and equipment deployment. 

 

The first cluster entered service in September 2025 after an accelerated construction schedule, and expansion work continues through 2026. The campus is designed to support frontier AI research, large-scale language model training, and advanced inference workloads using next-generation GPU architectures deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Meta Prometheus

Meta Prometheus is a 1 GW AI supercluster under development at Meta's New Albany campus in Ohio and is expected to become one of the world's first gigawatt-scale AI computing facilities. Developed and operated by Meta Platforms, the project forms part of the company's broader USD 100–150 billion investment program focused on AI infrastructure and superintelligence research. 

 

The campus spans more than 447 acres and integrates multiple data center buildings, colocation facilities, and rapidly deployable structures into a single interconnected computing platform. Meta is deploying its proprietary Backend Aggregation (BAG) networking architecture alongside advanced Air-Assisted Liquid Cooling systems to support large-scale GPU clusters and high-density AI workloads. 

 

Construction and expansion activities accelerated during 2025, with full production operations targeted for 2026. Once fully operational, Prometheus will support frontier AI research, large language model training, multimodal AI systems, and next-generation AI inference at unprecedented scale.

Amazon Pennsylvania AI Innovation Campuses

Amazon Web Services is developing the Pennsylvania AI Innovation Campuses, a multi-site network of AI and cloud infrastructure projects that together represent the largest private-sector investment in Pennsylvania's history. Backed by at least USD 20 billion, the initiative is anchored by two flagship locations: the Salem Township campus in Luzerne County, adjacent to the Susquehanna nuclear power station, and the Falls Township campus in Bucks County at the Keystone Trade Center redevelopment site. 

 

The Salem facility alone has approvals supporting up to 960 MW of capacity, while the broader program has long-term multi-gigawatt expansion potential across additional Pennsylvania locations under evaluation. Site preparation and early infrastructure work began in late 2025 and early 2026, with development proceeding in multiple phases. Initial facilities are expected to enter service beginning in late 2027, followed by further expansion through 2028 and beyond. 

 

One of the largest data center campuses by AWS are designed to support hyperscale cloud services, large-scale AI training, foundation model development, and next-generation AWS platforms, including Amazon Bedrock and other AI-focused services.

Meta Lebanon Campus (Project Domino)

Meta is developing the Lebanon Campus, internally known as Project Domino, as a 1 GW AI-focused data center campus within Indiana's LEAP Research and Innovation District in Boone County. Located about 30 miles northwest of Indianapolis, the project represents an investment exceeding USD 10 billion and ranks among Meta's largest infrastructure developments to date. 

 

The campus spans approximately 1,500 acres and is planned to include 4 million square feet of facilities across 13 to 15 buildings, including 10 dedicated data centers and supporting logistics, networking, and administrative infrastructure. Construction officially began in February 2026 following extensive site preparation work, with development proceeding in multiple phases. 

 

Meta is incorporating advanced closed-loop liquid cooling technology designed to minimize water consumption while supporting high-density computing environments. Initial facilities are expected to enter service by the end of 2027, supporting AI model training, large-scale inference workloads, and the company's next generation of digital services.

AVAIO Digital Leo Campus

AVAIO Digital Leo Campus (Arkansas) is a large-scale AI and cloud infrastructure development being built by AVAIO Digital Partners near Wrightsville in Pulaski County, Arkansas, just south of Little Rock. Announced in January 2026, the project represents the largest private economic investment in Arkansas history, with an initial USD 6 billion commitment from AVAIO and its customers. 

 

The 760-acre campus has secured 150 MW of power in its first phase through Entergy Arkansas and is designed to scale to 1 GW through a combination of grid and on-site power resources. The project is currently undergoing site preparation and early construction, with work beginning in the first quarter of 2026. Phase 1 facilities are expected to be completed and ready for server deployment by June 2027. 

 

The campus is being designed to support AI training, hyperscale cloud computing, high-performance computing (HPC), and large-scale data storage workloads, positioning Arkansas as an emerging destination for next-generation digital infrastructure.

Project Lighthouse (Stargate)

Project Lighthouse is a nearly 902 MW AI data center campus under development in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and serves as a major Midwest hub within the Stargate AI infrastructure initiative. Developed by Vantage Data Centers on land provided by Cloverleaf Infrastructure and fully leased to Oracle for OpenAI workloads, the project represents the largest private investment in Wisconsin's history. 

 

The development is valued at more than USD 15 billion, including an initial USD 8 billion first phase. The campus spans 672 acres, with approximately 500 acres dedicated to four hyperscale data centers and the remainder preserved as wetlands and open space. Groundbreaking took place in December 2025, and construction is progressing in multiple phases through 2028. 

 

Once complete, the facility will be powered by zero-emission energy sources and support advanced AI training, large language model development, and high-performance inference workloads for OpenAI.

AWS Richmond County Campus

The AWS Richmond County Campus is a multi-billion-dollar hyperscale data center development under construction in Richmond County, North Carolina, at the Energy Way Industrial Park near Hamlet and Rockingham. Developed and operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the project represents the largest upfront corporate investment in North Carolina's history, with a planned investment of approximately USD 10 billion. 

 

The campus spans an estimated 800 -1,200 acres and is expected to accommodate up to 20 data center buildings, totaling roughly 3.7 - 4.5 million square feet of data center space. Located adjacent to Duke Energy's Sherwood H. Smith Jr. Energy Complex, the site benefits from proximity to one of the region's largest power-generation facilities. 

 

Construction began following an official groundbreaking in October 2025, with site grading, infrastructure installation, and foundation work currently underway. Initial facilities are expected to enter service in late 2027 or 2028, with phased expansion continuing through 2030. The campus is being developed to support AI training, hyperscale cloud services, enterprise computing, and large-scale machine learning workloads across AWS's global platform.
