CtrlS is constructing hyperscale data center parks in India to meet the needs of large-scale operations. These parks will be located in Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad, each sprawling over two million square feet.

In January 2025, CtrlS signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with the Telangana government to develop a 400 MW data center cluster in Telangana.

They have also announced plans to develop a data center campus in Kolkata. In August, CtrlS unveiled its new 16 MW data center in Kolkata. Additionally, CtrlS has acquired land in Patna for a greenfield edge data center project.

CtrlS also inaugurated the Chennai data center campus, for which CtrlS has invested around USD 482 million. They have announced a substantial investment strategy to support data center expansion plans in India.

 

The data center parks are envisioned to provide state-of-the-art services to enterprises that require extensive data management solutions. 

This includes infusing 350 MW of capacity across new and existing hyperscale and edge data centers in India and some Southeast Asian data center markets

Equinix India is part of the global Equinix network. The company is a vendor-neutral multitenant data center provider with around 260 data centers worldwide. The company currently has around three operational data centers in Mumbai. To expand its data center network in India, Equinix acquired GPX India Private Limited.

 

Furthermore, Equinix India offers direct connections to major cloud providers, making it easier for businesses to migrate their workloads to the cloud. Their data centers are connected by a physically diverse, dedicated dark fiber network, creating a campus environment that allows customers to tap into a dense interconnection ecosystem and expand seamlessly. By the end of 2024, Equinix plans to open a USD 65 million interconnection hub in Chennai, connected to three other data centers in Mumbai. Recently, the company acquired 1.38 acres of land in Chandivali for INR 155 crore to set up a data center in Mumbai.

 

Apart from this, To achieve their climate goals, Equinix India recently signed a 33 MW renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) with an Indian renewable energy developer, CleanMax. 

 

Equinix's global network has also formed a joint venture to develop a USD 600 million data center in the USA. On 19th September 2025, Equinix opened its first AI ready data center with an investment of USD 69 million in Chennai. This facility was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin which is designed to support high-performance AI workloads and is interconnected with global networks. Back in August 2025, Equinix announced multiple agreements to utilize 1 GW advanced nuclear power for its data centers including Oklo, Radiant clear and Bloom Energy.
