STT GDC India Signs INR 5,000 Crore Investment Deal with Maharashtra Government for Data Center Expansion
ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Maharashtra on October 16, 2025, to develop world-class data center campuses in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune. The agreement involves an investment of up to INR 5,000 crore (SGD 735 million) to expand the company's data center operations in the state.
The signing ceremony took place in Mumbai with the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, senior state officials, and leadership teams from STT GDC in attendance. STT GDC India is described as a leading co-location data center services provider in India with an established presence across 10 major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.
Investment Details and Infrastructure Development
Under the MoU, STT GDC India will invest up to an additional INR 5,000 crore to expand its major data center parks in Mumbai and Pune. The investment includes the development of a new, large-scale campus in Palava, spanning over 27 acres and purpose-built for AI and high-density computing. The planned investments will focus on building scalable, sustainable, and AI-ready data center campuses featuring advanced liquid cooling technologies.
These facilities are designed to help build a robust digital backbone for hyperscale clients, enterprises, and communities in Maharashtra.

The investments are expected to create over 500 highly skilled jobs and approximately 2,000 indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the region's economic growth.
