Adani Group announced an investment of USD 600 million to set up a data center campus in Chandanvelly, Telangana, with a total capacity of 100 MW. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Adani group chairman Gautam Adani met CM A. Revanth Reddy.
Furthermore, the conglomerate signed four MoUs with the state government. This project is part of AdaniConneX's larger plan to invest USD 8.1 billion in data center development across India.
AdaniConneX plans to utilize green energy sources like solar and wind power to power the data center, making it eco-friendly. Chandanvelly is strategically selected due to its proximity to major fiber optic networks and access to reliable power infrastructure. The project is expected to create significant job opportunities in the region, both during construction and operation.
This project is expected to boost the data center infrastructure in India, catering to the growing demand for cloud computing and data storage solutions.
The data center will provide state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, attract cloud providers and enterprises, and enhance internet connectivity in Telangana. The project can act as a catalyst for digital transformation across various sectors, like healthcare, education, and government services.
AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Group, India's largest infrastructure and energy provider, and EdgeConneX, a global leader in data center design and operations. Their mission is to empower a "Digital India" by building a network of reliable data center facilities powered by 100% renewable energy.
The group offers a variety of data center solutions, including hyperscale campuses, hyperlocal edge facilities, and colocation services. Additionally, there are plans to expand its footprint across India and potentially into other Asian markets. AdaniConneX is already building facilities in strategic locations like Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Hyderabad, and Vizag.
