RP Global (renewable energy developer) has reached financial close on a USD 199.23 million financing package for its 123.9 MW Wałcz wind farm in northwestern Poland, in what the company describes as one of the most significant debt transactions completed for a greenfield onshore wind project in the country in recent years.
Deal Structure and Parties Involved
The facility is structured as a unitranche arrangement, with Eiffel Investment Group acting as arranger and providing funds alongside Banco Santander as co-lender. The transaction was announced on June 22, 2026, from Szczecin and Vienna.
On the advisory side, Greenberg Traurig served as legal counsel to RP Global, while lender-side advisory roles were filled by Clifford Chance on legal matters and Wind Prospect on technical matters.
Eiffel Investment Group is an independent asset manager with approximately €8 billion under management as of March 31, 2026, including uncalled commitments.
The firm operates from offices in Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Warsaw, New York, and Abu Dhabi, and counts large institutional investors among its investor base, including insurance companies, pension funds, banks, and family offices.
Alexis Sarton, Director at Eiffel Investment Group, said the transaction reflects the firm's strategy of investing in quality infrastructure assets contributing to energy transition and energy sovereignty in Europe, and demonstrates its ability to provide large-scale and flexible financing solutions.

Financing Strategy and Market Context
RP Global's Chief Financial Officer, Jorge Rodriguez, characterized the financing as one of the most important closings in the Polish onshore market since the introduction of the 10H rule, a Polish regulation that historically restricted the proximity of wind turbines to residential buildings and significantly curtailed new onshore wind development in the country for a period of years.
Rodriguez stated that the company is pursuing a merchant strategy for this financing, meaning the project will operate without a long-term power purchase agreement in place at this stage. However, he noted that RP Global is actively scouting the market for a PPA that would support a long-term refinancing in a second phase.
RP Global's History in Poland
The Wałcz project represents the sixth wind farm being built by RP Global in Poland. The company stated it has been active in the Polish market for almost twenty years, working alongside major local and multilateral financial institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
RP Global is an independent power producer headquartered in Vienna, Austria, and Madrid, Spain. The company has been active in the renewable energy sector for over 40 years and is currently developing a pipeline of nearly 14 gigawatts of solar photovoltaic, wind, and storage projects. It maintains local teams across seven European markets, including Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain.
Eiffel Investment Group's Energy Transition Focus
Eiffel Investment Group describes itself as a pioneer in energy transition financing, with strategies that span private debt, energy transition infrastructure through both debt and equity instruments, private equity, and listed credit and equity markets.
The firm places impact at the center of its investment model, with strategies designed to generate financial performance alongside contributions to decarbonization and economic resilience.
The group's involvement in the Wałcz transaction aligns with its stated focus on energy transition infrastructure across Europe. Its local presence in Warsaw positions it as an active participant in the Polish renewable energy financing market, which has seen renewed activity following regulatory changes that eased restrictions on onshore wind development in recent years.
Powering Your Pipeline: Stay Ahead of Poland's Energy Infrastructure Boom
Across Poland, the power sector is undergoing a transformation unlike anything seen in decades, from offshore wind corridors to grid modernisation programmes reshaping how nations transmit and consume energy.
