Lhyfe Unveils its First Green Hydrogen Project in UK: 20 MW Green Hydrogen Plant

Today, Lhyfe unveiled plans to develop a 20 MW green hydrogen plant, marking its inaugural project in the UK. The proposed plant, named "Lhyfe Wallsend," would be situated on the site of the historic Neptune Bank Power Station in Wallsend, North Tyneside. If approved, the facility could produce up to eight tonnes of green hydrogen per day.

The company, poised to establish a facility in the north-east of England, receives support from Shepherd Offshore, a leading maritime and energy service provider, following the signing of a land deal.

Lhyfe has a history of pioneering green hydrogen solutions. In 2021, they proudly inaugurated the world's first industrial-scale green hydrogen production plant connected to a wind farm. Additionally, they launched the first offshore green hydrogen production pilot platform globally in 2022. In December 2023, two additional production facilities in Europe opened, with several others currently under construction.
