ADNOC announced on November 6, 2026, that it has signed a long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat Energy Ltd. to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India from the international gas portfolio of XRG, ADNOC's international investment company.

The agreement marks the first sale of molecules from XRG's international portfolio, a milestone that company executives describe as a demonstration of how ADNOC's Group structure can deliver internationally produced gas to customers around the world.

ADNOC Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Deal With Gujarat Energy

Under the terms of the agreement, Gujarat Energy will receive up to 4 million tonnes of LNG over a period of ten years, with deliveries starting in 2028.

The deal is ADNOC's fifth LNG supply agreement in India, deepening a commercial relationship that the company describes as a long-standing energy partnership with customers in the country.

The agreement was concluded through ADNOC's new global LNG marketing and trading platform, which was launched in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026.

That platform now targets 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG beyond 2030, an ambition that ADNOC says positions it among the world's leading LNG suppliers.

Executives Point to Partnership and Reliability

Rashid Al Mazrouei, Chief Marketing & Origination Officer (LNG) at ADNOC, framed the agreement as both a commercial and strategic achievement. "This agreement with Gujarat Energy strengthens ADNOC's long-standing energy partnership with customers in India," he said. "It represents the first sale of molecules from XRG's international portfolio, reinforcing our commitment to delivering reliable, long-term LNG supplies."

Al Mazrouei also highlighted the role of the company's integrated marketing and trading infrastructure in the transaction. "Through our integrated LNG marketing and trading platform, we are connecting our growing international portfolio with customers in key regions across the global markets, while providing India with reliable, flexible, and long-term LNG supplies," he said.

On the Indian side, Ms. Avantika Singh Aulakh, Managing Director of Gujarat Energy Ltd (GEL), welcomed the deal as the start of a deeper operational collaboration. "Through this partnership, GEL and ADNOC are joining forces to fully realize the power of our collaboration," she said.

Aulakh described GEL's position across the Indian energy value chain, noting that the company "leads the market at every stage of the energy journey." She cited GEL's robust regasification infrastructure, a widespread city gas network operating across 44 districts in six states, and what she characterized as a fast-growing trading presence in India.

Natural Gas and India's Energy Transition

In her remarks, Aulakh positioned natural gas as a central element of India's shift toward cleaner energy. She described the fuel as "a crucial lower-carbon option" that boosts industrial efficiency, offers households a safer cooking fuel, and accelerates the growth of eco-friendly transportation.

Those comments underscore the demand context in which the agreement was signed. Gujarat Energy's city gas network spans 44 districts across six states, giving the company direct reach into industrial, residential, and transport-sector consumers, the end markets that the GEL managing director associated with the benefits of natural gas adoption.

A Platform Gaining Momentum Across Asia

The Gujarat Energy deal is the latest in a series of agreements concluded through ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform since its launch in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026. According to ADNOC, the platform has now signed supply agreements with INPEX in Japan, Gulf Group in Thailand, and Gujarat Energy in India.

That roster of counterparties, the company notes, expands ADNOC's reach across some of Asia's key LNG sectors. The deal with Gujarat Energy specifically connects XRG-owned supply produced outside the Gulf with demand in India, which ADNOC presents as evidence of how the Group can bring molecules from its international portfolio to customers across the globe.

A Significant Step in XRG's Evolution

ADNOC characterized the agreement as a significant step in XRG's evolution as a globally integrated gas and LNG business. XRG, ADNOC's international investment company, owns the international gas portfolio from which the LNG volumes under the SPA will be sourced.

By routing the supply through ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform, the transaction links XRG's internationally produced molecules with Indian demand, the first time the company has achieved such a sale from that portfolio.

The platform's stated target of 47 mtpa of marketable LNG beyond 2030 remains the overarching commercial ambition behind the deal, with ADNOC positioning itself among the world's leading LNG suppliers as it builds out its trading and marketing capabilities.

Deal Summary

The agreement, signed and announced on November 6, 2026, commits ADNOC to supplying Gujarat Energy Ltd with up to 4 million tonnes of LNG over ten years beginning in 2028.

It is the fifth LNG supply agreement ADNOC has concluded in India, the third supply agreement signed by the company's global LNG marketing and trading platform since its July 2026 launch in Abu Dhabi Global Market, and the first sale of molecules drawn from the international portfolio of XRG, ADNOC's international investment company.
