US data center provider TierPoint has acquired a data center located in greater Dallas, Texas.The new facility, located at 13701 Independence Parkway, is the company’s third data center facility in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. The building covers an area of 209,200 square feet across two stories. The site features 45,000 square feet of data center production space and 5 MW of available power.

TierPoint stated that the production space and power are both scalable, including 8 MW in the short term and 18 MW in the long term.  TierPoint chairman and CEO Jerry Kent said, “We’re experiencing exceptionally strong demand for data center services, and this new, world-class facility greatly enhances our ability to answer that demand.”

The new Dallas data center joins TierPoint’s current portfolio of 40 data center facilities spread across the US. This data center will support traditional colocation and will serve as a future landing spot for the large-scale, high-density colocation services required for artificial intelligence and other compute-intensive, GPU-accelerated workloads.
