Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) announced on 27 October 2026 the successful completion of Phase 1 development of the Hedebah Gas-Condensate Field, a project the company says has already more than doubled its current gas production and will strengthen Sharjah's long-term energy security.
SNOC Completes Hedebah Field Phase One Objectives
The Hedebah Field was discovered in May 2024 and is located northeast of the Sajaa gas field. SNOC advanced the asset from discovery to production through an accelerated appraisal and development program, achieving first gas within less than a year of the discovery.
The company confirmed that all key Phase 1 objectives have now been completed, including appraisal drilling, well evaluation, gathering infrastructure, pipeline installation, and commissioning activities.
Leadership Frames Hedebah as Strategic Milestone
Khamis Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer of SNOC, described the completion as a landmark achievement for the emirate.
"Hedebah is one of the most significant gas developments in Sharjah in recent years and a cornerstone of SNOC's long-term growth strategy," he said.
"Completing Phase 1 and bringing the field into production demonstrates our ability to move quickly from discovery to delivery while supporting the Emirate's growing energy requirements. As we move into the next phase of development, Hedebah will play an increasingly important role in strengthening energy security and creating long-term value for Sharjah."
Masoud Al Hamadi, Executive Director of Upstream at SNOC, pointed to the technical results underpinning the project's outlook.
"Appraisal results have confirmed strong reservoir quality, favourable pressure characteristics, and encouraging production performance across the field," he said, adding that these findings increase confidence in Hedebah's long-term commercial potential and its future contribution to Sharjah's energy needs.

Delivered Against Supply Chain Headwinds
SNOC stated that the project was delivered despite significant logistical and procurement challenges, including regional shipping disruptions and material supply constraints.
The company said the outcome demonstrates its ability to execute complex developments on an accelerated timeline.
Next Phase Targets Plateau Production by 2028
Work on the field is not stopping at Phase 1. SNOC said it has already commenced preparations for the next stage of development, with activities being accelerated to ramp up production during 2027.
The field is expected to reach plateau production by 2028 and, according to the company, will make a substantial contribution to meeting future energy demand across the Emirate.
The announcement positions Hedebah as a central plank in SNOC's growth plans at a time when the company has been active on multiple fronts, including recent agreements such as a memorandum of understanding with Equinor to explore downstream opportunities, an MoU with Emarat covering business opportunities in the LPG sector, a digital transformation partnership with SAP, and a collaboration with Siemens Energy and Decahydron to explore a natural hydrogen power project in Sharjah.
