Scout Clean Energy announced on November 5, 2026, that its 183 MW Nimbus Wind Farm in Carroll County, Arkansas, is now commercially operational. The achievement follows two years of construction and makes Nimbus the largest wind facility in the state of Arkansas.

The project is now generating enough electricity to power more than 40,000 homes annually.

About the Nimbus Project

Nimbus was developed by Scout Clean Energy, a North American renewable energy developer-owner-operator headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and a Brookfield portfolio company.

The project's 30 turbines are sited among ridgetops in northwest Arkansas, a placement informed by comprehensive geotechnical studies and analysis. Scout worked with more than 50 participating landowners to bring the project to fruition.

Construction and Local Economic Impact

Scout partnered with MasTec, which served as the general contractor for the project. Construction on Nimbus began in late 2024.

Brendon Lamppa, Vice President of Construction at MasTec Renewables, called the completion a proud moment for the team and a reflection of the partnership built with Scout Clean Energy.

He noted that team members brought dedication to the project with safety and quality at the center of their work every day.

The construction phase employed more than 280 workers. Once operational, the project will fill at least five full-time positions. Over its operating life, Nimbus is projected to contribute approximately USD 31 million in property taxes to Carroll County.

Michael Rucker, CEO and Founder of Scout Clean Energy, described Nimbus as a project close to the company's heart, noting it was one of the original projects Scout was developing when the company was founded.

He credited the many years of support from project landowners, local officials, construction and offtake partners, and members of the Carroll County community for making the project possible.

Scout is operating the project with an on-site operations team working in tandem with performance monitoring from the company's 24/7 Remote Operations Center (ROC) in Boulder.
