Pattern Energy has closed a USD 11 billion non-recourse financing for the largest clean energy infrastructure project in the US. Pattern Energy, a leader in renewable energy and transmission infrastructure, has commenced the construction of SunZia Transmission and SunZia Wind. Once completed, the project will provide clean power to 3 million Americans.

The SunZIA transmission project will deliver 3515 MW of clean energy from the SunZia Wind facility. SunZia wind facility is considered to be the largest wind facility in the Western Hemisphere.

The SunZia Transmission Project comprises a 550-mile, 525-kilovolt high-voltage direct current transmission line, traversing from central New Mexico to south-central Arizona. This robust infrastructure boasts the capacity to transport 3,000 megawatts of clean, reliable, and cost-effective electricity across Western states, thus serving as a critical conduit for renewable energy integration and grid modernization.
SunZia Wind and Transmission will employ more than 2,000 workers on-site. The project will also use the expertise of several industry-leading suppliers and contractors.
The EPC contractor for the transmission line is Quanta Infrastructure Services Group, and the HVDC supplier is Hitachi Energy. The EPC contractor for the wind project is Blattner Energy. GE Vernova and Vestas supply the wind turbines. GE is one of the top 15 wind turbine manufacturers in the world.
