Green Wind Renewables Announces Launch of 450 MW Mahogany Wind Farm in Western Australia
Green Wind Renewables has announced the launch of the Mahogany Wind Farm, a large-scale wind project located between the Shires of Coorow and Dandaragan in the agricultural Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. The facility is targeting a production capacity of 450 megawatts (MW) and is designed to accommodate up to 75 turbines.
The wind farm is designed to be equivalent to supplying 250,000 households and is expected to generate more than 1.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity annually. The site is located about 40 kilometres south of Eneabba and 40 kilometres east of Jurien Bay.
Strategic Location and Wind Resources
The Mahogany Wind Farm site benefits from wind conditions identified as among the most consistent in Western Australia. The strategic wind resources at the location reinforce the Wheatbelt's attractiveness for future large-scale energy projects. The project is part of a regional effort to enhance renewable electricity generation capacity, as the state continues to pursue its energy diversification goals.
Preliminary feasibility studies have been completed for the development.
