Neoen has secured USD 1.265 billion in debt financing from a group of 13 Australian and international lenders to support a 1.2 GW renewable energy portfolio comprising five assets across three Australian states, the Paris- and Sydney-headquartered company announced on 30 October 2026.

A Landmark Deal Backed by 13 Lenders

The portfolio includes two wind farms, two battery storage projects, and a solar farm and mixes operating assets with those under construction.

Group CEO Xavier Barbaro described the transaction as the company's largest financing to date. "This transaction reflects the quality and diversity of our assets and demonstrates our ability to optimise our financing structure and strengthen our balance sheet," he said, adding that the deal reinforces Neoen's capacity to invest in new projects and consolidate its position as the leading player in Australia's energy transition.

The Portfolio in Detail

The five assets financed under the package are Hornsdale Power Reserve (150 MW / 193.5 MWh) in South Australia, Goyder South Wind Farm Stage 1A (209 MW) in South Australia, Culcairn Solar Farm (440 MWp) in New South Wales, Culcairn Battery (215 MW / 963 MWh) in New South Wales, and Narrogin Wind Farm (179 MW) in Western Australia.

The lender group spans both domestic and international institutions: ANZ, Bank of America, Bank of China, Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Export Development Canada, HSBC, ING, KfW IPEX, Mizuho, NAB, UOB, Société Générale and Westpac.

Jean-Christophe Cheylus, Neoen's Regional CEO Australia Pacific, welcomed both the transaction and the mix of financial partners. "We are delighted to announce this new portfolio financing, and we extend our thanks to all our lenders for their trust and commitment," he said.

"We value the continued support of our long-term partners, and we welcome the arrival of new lenders. This landmark transaction underlines the strength, depth, and growth of our portfolio in Australia."

USD 3.515 billion raised since 2024

Including this new financing, Neoen has raised more than USD 3.515 billion in debt financing since 2024, covering 4.7 GW of combined capacity distributed across 20 wind, solar, and storage assets in multiple Australian states. The company framed the new package as evidence of its ability to structure large portfolio-level financings spanning different technologies and geographies.

Neoen is Australia's largest renewable energy company, having contributed more than 6 GW of wind, solar and storage capacity to the country's energy transition.

With an extensive development pipeline and a multibillion-dollar forward investment plan, the company's stated ambition is to reach 10 GW in Australia by 2030.
