Mitsubishi Plans to Develop the One of the Worlds Largest Green Hydrogen Plant in the Netherlands

Mitsubishi plans to invest USD 690 million in constructing pne of the world's largest green hydrogen production plant in the Netherlands. The plant is anticipated to boast a production capacity of 80,000 metric tons per year, a figure 30 times larger than that of the world's current largest operational green hydrogen facility. Construction is set to commence by 2026, with the plant becoming operational by 2029. Furthermore, the plant will be situated in Rotterdam.

Eneco Diamond Hydrogen, a joint venture between Mitsubishi and Eneco, will be in charge of managing the production oversight. Green hydrogen will be produced through the electrolysis of water, utilizing electricity derived from renewable sources. The European Union aims to increase its annual green hydrogen capacity to 10 million metric tons by 2030.
