Fortescue Forms Joint Venture with OCP Group for Green Energy Projects in Morocco

Fortescue Energy and OCP Group formed a joint venture to develop green energy projects in Morocco. This partnership aims to supply green hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizers to Morocco, Europe, and international markets. It includes the potential development of manufacturing facilities and an R&D hub to advance the rapidly growing renewable energy industry in Morocco.

The joint venture's objective is to supply green hydrogen and ammonia for producing green energy and manufacture customized fertilizers that are accessible and affordable for farmers worldwide.The joint venture is planning to execute four key projects in Morocco:

 

  • Large-scale integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and green fertilizer production capacity.
  • Manufacturing of green technology and equipment
  • An R&D and Technology Hub, located alongside Mohammed VI Polytechnic University 
  • Collaboration of corporate venture capital funds to drive investment in key technological advancements.
