Navigational safety: A minimum distance of 1,400 m has been established between turbines to address wake efficiency, fisheries access, and navigational safety.
Grid Integration: Export cables will run from the offshore substations to a Morgan offshore booster station, before making landfall in Lancashire.
Electrical Infrastructure: It comprises Inter-array cables of approximately 390 km and up to three interconnectors, with a total length of 60 km. These will be buried at a depth of 1-2 m, with extra protection applied where burial is unfeasible.
Helicopter access: There will be up to four offshore substation platforms, housing step-up transformers, switchgear, and secondary systems, which will be accessible by helicopter.
Coordinated Transmission Assets Project: Export to shore will be facilitated through the Coordinated Transmission Assets project, which also includes a Morgan offshore booster station and two new onshore substations in Lancashire.
