Técnicas Reunidas has strengthened its presence in North America with a new contract awarded by LNG Canada, the joint venture between Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and KOGAS.
The award names TR Canada E&C, the company's Canadian entity, as the provider of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) services for Phase 2 of the Coastal GasLink (CGL) pipeline, located in British Columbia on Canada's west coast.
The contract carries a value exceeding USD 224.44 million and an expected execution period of over four years, representing what the company describes as a significant milestone in the strengthening of its services business.
An Integrated Execution Model
CGL Phase 2 will be delivered through an integrated execution model with clearly defined roles among the parties involved. LNG Canada will lead project construction as Phase 2 Execution Manager, while TR Canada E&C will provide the EPCM services covering detail engineering, procurement, and construction management. CGL will remain the owner, operator, and permit holder of the pipeline and its associated facilities.
The project scope includes the construction of five additional compressor stations, as well as modifications to both existing and planned facilities at various points along the pipeline route.

Coming Weeks After Final Investment Decision
The contract award comes only weeks after LNG Canada reached its Phase 2 Final Investment Decision (FID), a milestone that advances the next stage of development of the British Columbia-based project, which has been designated a Project of National Significance.
Phase 2 further reinforces LNG Canada's position as one of the largest private-sector investments in Canadian history, building on the foundation established through Phase 1.

Building on an Established Relationship
The award builds on extensive work already performed by Técnicas Reunidas throughout the earlier phases of the project, during which the company provided consulting and engineering services from the initial stages through the FEED phase.
According to the company, this achievement demonstrates its ability to support clients across the full lifecycle of major industrial developments, from concept definition to project execution.
A Long-Standing Canadian Presence
Técnicas Reunidas has been present in Canada since 2012. The company maintains a permanent office in Calgary with resident engineering teams and has carried out more than twenty technical studies and EPC projects for major companies in the country.
The new contract with LNG Canada adds to Técnicas Reunidas' broader midstream track record, which includes 30,000 kilometers of oil and gas pipelines and more than 35 large compression projects worldwide.
The award also follows shortly after another recent success in Canada, where the company secured an EPC contract for a power generation facility that will provide energy to a major META data center and artificial intelligence hub, a development the company cites as evidence of its growing role in delivering critical infrastructure for both the energy and digital sectors.
The North American Market and the SALTA Strategic Plan
The contract reinforces Técnicas Reunidas' commitment to the North American market, which the company describes as a cornerstone of its current SALTA Strategic Plan. The company has already identified a pipeline of potential projects worth USD 31.42 billion in the North American market.
A significant portion of that pipeline consists of around a dozen large-scale combined-cycle power plants, aimed primarily at meeting the high and growing energy needs resulting from the boom in large data centers being developed in the region.
