The Rabigh 4 IWP has a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day, which translates to providing potable water for roughly 2.4 million people. Utilizing cutting-edge seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) technology, the plant will desalinate seawater, transforming it into a reliable source of fresh water. This desalination process is crucial in arid regions like Saudi Arabia, where freshwater resources are scarce.

Construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, at which point the plant will commence commercial operations. This strategic project is anticipated to significantly bolster water production capacity in the western Saudi Arabian provinces, ensuring a sustainable and secure water supply for millions of residents and pilgrims visiting the holy cities.
