Furthermore, the company intends to achieve a total capacity of about 2 MTPA of green ammonia by 2035. These two production facilities are expected to yield around 180 KTPA of green hydrogen. The project will be executed in two phases, with the production plants set to be operational by 2027.

ONGC is currently in discussions with private players about the development of these plants. The company is seeking partners capable of providing renewable energy and pumped storage components.

To facilitate the energy transition, ONGC has outlined a comprehensive plan, including the establishment of a separate company dedicated to the green energy sector. The focus of ONGC's energy transition will primarily be on green hydrogen projects, carbon capture utilization and storage projects, and offshore wind energy.
