The Nordex Group (wind turbine manufaturer) has received orders from the EFG Energy Farming Group 9renewable energy company) for the supply and installation of twelve wind turbines across several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a combined installed capacity of around 82 MW. The announcement was made on 13 August 2026, with both contracts including Premium Service agreements running for 20 years.

Two Project Areas, Twelve Turbines

The order covers two distinct project areas in Lower Saxony. The first is the "Erlte-Endel" wind farm, located in the district of Vechta, specifically in the municipality of Visbek. Nordex will supply and install five N175/6.X turbines at that site, each mounted on hybrid towers reaching a hub height of 179 meters.

The second area is the "Bad Essen" wind farm cluster, situated in the district of Osnabrück. This cluster is more complex in scope, comprising four separate wind energy projects: Langewiesen-Nord, Langewiesen-Süd, Rabber Wiesen, and the Wimmerbruch repowering project.

Nordex will install a total of seven turbines across these four projects, consisting of five N175/6.X turbines on 179-meter towers and two N163/6.X turbines with a hub height of 164 meters.

Together, the twelve turbines across both project areas account for the combined 82 MW of installed capacity covered by the orders.

Timeline for Construction and Commissioning

According to Nordex, initial infrastructure work at both sites is scheduled to begin before the end of 2026. The installation of wind turbines across both the Erlte-Endel and Bad Essen project areas is planned for 2027, with commissioning of the turbines targeted for spring 2028.

The wind farms developed by the EFG Energy Farming Group will be operated by landowners and regional citizen wind companies once they are operational, reflecting the group's model of anchoring projects in local ownership structures.

Both EFG Energy Farming Group and Nordex placed emphasis on the local character of the projects in their statements accompanying the announcement. Reiner Borgmeyer, Managing Director of EFG Energy-Farming Holding GmbH, highlighted that landowners and community energy companies had been involved from the outset of both projects.
