The successful bidder in the Green Hydrogen tender is required to construct thousand-metric-tonne (TMT) facilities for the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives. Bidders have the option to select either Bucket I, which represents technology-agnostic pathways, or Bucket 2, which represents biomass-based pathways. The aggregate annual capacity of green hydrogen under Bucket-I is 410,000 MT, while the annual capacity under Bucket-ll is 40,000 MT.

for electrolyzer manufacturing Bidders have submitted bids in two categories:

  • Electrolyzer manufacturing capacity based on any stack technology (1200 MW) and
  • Electrolyzer manufacturing capacity is based on indigenously developed stack technology (300 MW).

The chosen bidder must establish the manufacturing facilities within twenty-four months of receiving the letter of award.

What is the SIGHT scheme?
The Government of India has launched the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme as a significant initiative to accelerate the creation and use of green hydrogen in the nation. This ambitious scheme aims to establish India as a global leader in green hydrogen production and utilization, contributing to decarbonization and energy independence.
