LONGi, a global leader in solar technology, has announced the completion of module supply for a monumental 550 MW photovoltaic plant project in the old lignite mines in Western Macedonia. The project belongs to PPC Renewables (PPCR), which is identified as the largest producer of electricity from renewable energy sources in Greece.

Project Scale and Significance

This commercial agreement represents a milestone for LONGi's footprint in Greece, as it is considered the largest single project deal for solar modules in Southern Europe to date. The 550 MW capacity will contribute substantially to Greece's and the broader Southern European energy mix, reinforcing the commitment to a sustainable future.

The landmark deal implements LONGi's high-efficiency Hi-MO 7 bifacial modules series. Both companies engaged in extensive discussions and collaborative planning to ensure the optimal selection and timely delivery of high-efficiency solar modules that meet the stringent requirements of such a large-scale project, representing a concerted effort to overcome the challenges of large-scale renewable energy deployment.

Module Specifications and Delivery Timeline

The comprehensive agreement encompassed the procurement of LONGi's Hi-MO 7 modules, which were delivered between Q2 2024 and Q2 2025. In addition to its high efficiency, Hi-MO 7 boasts excellent power generation performance and long-term reliability, significantly reducing the cost of electricity (LCOE) for large-scale projects.

The Hi-MO 7 series represents LONGi's advanced bifacial module technology, designed specifically for large-scale installations requiring high performance and reliability standards.
