Leading Australian-owned renewable energy company Tilt Renewables has welcomed federal environmental approval for the Waddi Wind Farm project in Western Australia. The approval represents a major step forward for the 108MW project, which is located 150 km north of Perth.

Project Capacity and Environmental Impact

When Waddi is fully operational, it will deliver enough energy to power up to 68,000 homes and help prevent the release of around 286,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. The wind farm marks Tilt Renewables' first project in Western Australia, marking a significant expansion into the state's renewable energy market.

Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler welcomed the Minister's announcement, describing it as “a significant milestone for Tilt Renewables, with the Waddi Wind Farm becoming our first project in Western Australia.” Fowler stated that “The Commonwealth's approval clears one of the last remaining hurdles for the project, with a final investment decision on the project expected in the coming weeks.”
