French developer Lhyfe expects to take a final investment decision on its 100MW Normandy green hydrogen plant in 2027, as it nears bringing 15MW of additional French capacity online. The timeline was set out in the company's financial results for the first half of 2026.

H1 Results Show Modest Revenue Growth

In the half-year financials, Lhyfe reported revenues of USD 5.3 million, up from USD 5.15 million. in the same period a year earlier. The company said it has 36MW of green hydrogen capacity already online and is preparing for what it described as "upcoming" final investment decisions, including at the 100MW Green Horizon project.

The Green Horizon Project

Green Horizon is planned in Gonfreville-l'Orcher in Normandy. The project has secured USD 167 million from the French government and is expected to produce 34 tonnes of hydrogen per day. That output is intended to supply industrial customers, who have not been named.

Lhyfe also said that its 5 MW Croixalt facility in Somme and its 10 MW Le Cheylas plant in Isère have entered commissioning. Together these account for the 15MW of French capacity the company is nearing bringing online. Both plants are "expected to contribute to revenue from 2027 onwards," according to the company.

Supply Deals and Partnerships Expand the Commercial Base

The company has been expanding through the year, most recently landing supply deals with Germany-based project developer H2Apex, industrial gas major Messer, and Dutch biomethanol producer Perpetual Next. It has also partnered with major construction firm Strabag to support its build-out in Germany.

Earlier coverage lists a series of related developments over recent months. These include a 10-year deal under which Messer will buy Lhyfe green hydrogen and acquire project stakes, a first Austrian green hydrogen supply deal with BMW for fuel cell testing, and the purchase by PtX and KGAL of a majority stake in Lhyfe's 800 MW Lubmin hydrogen project.

RFNBO-Compliant Hydrogen Sales Expected to Rise

Lhyfe is increasingly positioned as a leading supplier of hydrogen compliant with the European rules for renewable fuels of non-biological origin, known as RFNBO. The firm said it anticipates a "significant increase" in revenues from these sales. It said such revenues could reach up to USD 14.6m this year, "supported by accelerating activity in Germany."

Refinery Demand Seen as a Key Opportunity

Earlier in the year, Lhyfe Chief Strategy Officer Luc Graré told H2 View that refining operations in Europe could create demand for around 600,000 tonnes of green hydrogen by 2032.

Transportation Capacity Increased

Beyond production, Lhyfe has also increased its hydrogen transportation capabilities. The company has expanded its Type IV tube trailer fleet to 84 following a recent tube trailer purchase.

Context for Investors and Offtakers

The half-year figures show that revenue growth at Lhyfe remained modest in the first six months, with the company pointing to the commissioning of new French plants and expanding German activity as the drivers of expected growth.

The company's statements tie its near-term revenue outlook to RFNBO-compliant sales in Germany and to the Croixalt and Le Cheylas facilities contributing from 2027. The 100MW Green Horizon project, backed by USD 167 million. in French government funding, is positioned as the next major step, with a final investment decision targeted for 2027.

From Electrolyser to Offtake: Mapping Europe's Hydrogen Build-Out Before the Competition Does

Who is really winning the race to build Europe's hydrogen economy, and how early did they find out about the opportunity?

In a sector where a single electrolyser tender can reshape a supplier's order book for years, the gap between hearing about a project at financial close and tracking it from the first announcement is often the gap between winning and watching.

Hydrogen development across Europe moves in layers: national strategies and subsidy rounds give way to pipeline corridors, port hubs, green ammonia facilities, refueling networks, and industrial decarbonization schemes.

Each layer generates its own tenders, contractors, and procurement windows, and each is scattered across dozens of agencies, utilities, and developers.

The Global Project Tracking (GPT) platform by Blackridge Research brings that fragmented picture into one structured view, so equipment suppliers, EPC contractors, investors, and advisors can see where hydrogen capital is heading and who is already attached to it. With it, you can follow projects across their full lifecycle through the following categories:
