This combined investment represents a substantial commitment to advancing hydrogen technology manufacturing within the UK. The funds will specifically support the establishment of a new 1 GW automated manufacturing line for ITM Power's next-generation stack technology called Chronos.

As part of the award ceremony, the company unveiled Chronos for the first time, with the technology expected to set a new benchmark in electrolyzer performance and cost when formally launched.

ITM Power's current stack platform, Trident, will remain an important part of the company's technology suite. The company stated it will continue to manufacture and innovate Trident to serve existing customers and long-term service agreements, ensuring continuity for current operations while developing the new Chronos platform.
