IOG Wind Secures Multi-Year Operations and Maintenance Contract for Taiwan's Hai Long Offshore Wind Project
IOG Wind, formerly known as CWind Taiwan, announced it has secured a multi-year operations and maintenance contract for the Balance of Plant of the Hai Long Offshore Wind Project. This marks IOG Wind's second long-term O&M contract since its establishment in 2018 and the first since becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of International Ocean Group in 2023.
Contract Scope and Services
The contract scope will cover inspections of newly installed offshore substations, as well as undertaking inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transition pieces, subsea foundations, and other structural components. Additional works, including subsea cable inspections and onshore substation operations, are planned to commence soon. The agreement demonstrates the company's strengthened local expertise and the trust it has earned from clients in Taiwan's offshore wind market.
Hai Long Project Specifications
The Hai Long Project is located 45–70 kilometers off the coast of Changhua County at depths of 35–60 meters. The project consists of Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3, featuring a total of 73 turbines. The Hai Long Project has its commercial operation targeted by the end of 2026, delivering more than 1GW of installed capacity. According to Tim Kittelhake, CEO and Project Director of the Hai Long Project, the initiative represents the largest offshore wind project in APAC.
During the construction phase, the project has signed over 100 contracts with Taiwanese suppliers, with a total value exceeding USD 4 billion.
