Fusion Fuel Green PLC has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, BrightHy Solutions, will construct and operate a two-megawatt green hydrogen production facility at a cement operation in Buñol, Spain, serving client Çimsa Cementos España S.A.U. The project marks a significant step in the company's strategy to pursue practical industrial hydrogen applications in Southern Europe.
Project Structure and Agreements
The announcement details that BrightHy Solutions will provide installation, supply, engineering, and operation services through its Spanish branch, Bright Hydrogen Solutions Limited EP ESP, referred to as BrightHy Spain. Construction services will be delivered under a construction agreement between Çimsa and BrightHy Solutions acting through that Spanish-registered branch.
Supply, engineering, and operation services will be provided by BrightHy Spain in its role as service provider under a series of related agreements between Çimsa and a project company managed by Bright Hydrogen Holding Company Limited.
That holding company is itself managed by BrightHy Solutions and is wholly owned by a green energy technologies provider operating under BrightHy Solutions' previously announced hydrogen investment platform. A services agreement between the project company and BrightHy Spain also forms part of the contractual structure underpinning the arrangement.
The project will additionally utilize BrightHy Solutions' agency agreement with Sungrow Hydrogen, described as a global hydrogen equipment supplier and industrial technology provider.

Targeting Hard-to-Abate Industrial Emissions
The facility is designed to integrate hydrogen as an alternative fuel source into Çimsa's cement production process, with the stated aim of reducing carbon emissions from that operation. Fusion Fuel described cement production as one of the most difficult industrial sectors to decarbonize, citing its reliance on continuous high-temperature thermal processes and carbon-intensive production methods.
The company stated its belief that projects of this nature demonstrate how green hydrogen can be deployed in targeted industrial use cases where electrification alone may not be sufficient to achieve long-term emissions reduction objectives.
Cement production was characterized by the company as representing one of the largest and most difficult industrial decarbonization opportunities globally, due to the sector's high-temperature heat requirements and the limited alternatives to fossil fuels available for certain industrial processes.

Executive Commentary on Market Transition
Frederico Figueira de Chaves, Chief Executive Officer of Fusion Fuel and BrightHy Solutions, said the project represents the type of industrial application the hydrogen sector increasingly needs, citing real industrial demand, long-term commercial structures, and integration into hard-to-abate industrial operations.
He stated his belief that the market is transitioning from early-stage project announcements toward a greater emphasis on execution, operational reliability, and long-term project viability.
Figueira de Chaves described the project as a multi-million-dollar undertaking that further validates BrightHy Solutions' strategy of focusing on practical industrial hydrogen applications.
He added that the project is expected to represent a significant source of value creation for both BrightHy Solutions and Fusion Fuel, and noted that anticipated follow-on projects with Çimsa are already in the proposal phase.
He characterized the project as an important milestone in BrightHy Solutions' strategy to position itself as an integrated hydrogen engineering, execution, and asset management platform supporting industrial decarbonization initiatives across Southern Europe.
Mario Garma, Chief Operating Officer of BrightHy Solutions, commented that hydrogen deployment will ultimately be driven by projects capable of solving industrial challenges in a pragmatic and economically viable way.
He stated that the market increasingly requires execution-focused projects that can operate safely, integrate effectively into industrial environments, and create long-term operational value for customers.
BrightHy Solutions and Fusion Fuel's Broader Platform
BrightHy Solutions is described as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fusion Fuel Green PLC, focused on hydrogen through electrolysis solutions. The company provides integrated services across the hydrogen production value chain, including plant design, tailored engineering solutions, equipment sourcing, implementation oversight, and long-term operations support.
Fusion Fuel Green PLC, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker HTOO and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, operates across multiple platforms including Al Shola Gas, BrightHy Solutions, and BioSteam Energy.
The company's operations span liquified petroleum gas supply through to hydrogen and bio-steam solutions, with a stated focus on supporting decarbonization across industrial, residential, and commercial sectors.
Commercial Significance and Strategic Positioning
The Buñol project is framed by Fusion Fuel as evidence that the company's industrial hydrogen strategy is gaining traction with real commercial customers operating in sectors where emissions reductions are among the most technically challenging to achieve.
The company pointed to the long-term nature of the commercial arrangements and the prospect of follow-on work with Çimsa as indicators of the project's strategic value beyond its initial scope.
The involvement of Sungrow Hydrogen as an equipment supplier under a pre-existing agency agreement with BrightHy Solutions underscores the subsidiary's approach of leveraging established supply chain relationships to deliver projects at the industrial scale required by clients in the cement and related sectors.
