EdgeCortix, a Tokyo-headquartered fabless semiconductor company focused on energy-efficient AI processing at the edge, has announced a new round of investment from Axiro Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. and MPower Partners, adding strategic and financial backing to its ongoing efforts to commercialize next-generation AI inference platforms.

Building on an Oversubscribed Round

The announcement, made on April 15, 2026, describes the new funding as building on the momentum of a previously oversubscribed funding round.

EdgeCortix said the investment will accelerate the development and commercialization of its next-generation platforms for Generative and Agentic AI, with particular emphasis on its SAKURA-X chiplet-based platform.

The company operates with a hardware-software co-design approach, using its patented Dynamic Neural Accelerator architecture alongside its MERA software stack to deliver runtime-reconfigurable AI acceleration.

EdgeCortix has offices in the United States and India in addition to its Tokyo headquarters, and its platforms target applications spanning defense, aerospace, smart infrastructure, Industry 4.0, robotics, and telecommunications.

Axiro Semiconductor Enters as Strategic Investor

Axiro Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. joins EdgeCortix as an investor through this round. Axiro is a wholly owned subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions and is headquartered in India.

The company specializes in RF, mmWave, and advanced connectivity IC design for next-generation wireless systems, with a focus on telecom, satellite communications, and defense.

Axiro has also described plans to expand into adjacent domains, including AI-driven infrastructure, industrial systems, robotics, and consumer electronics.

Dr. Naveen Yanduru, Chief Executive Officer at Axiro, said the investment reflects the company's focus on advancing next-generation semiconductor and connectivity technologies.

Yanduru specifically cited alignment with EdgeCortix's low-power, high-performance AI capabilities, including its SAKURA-II platform, and noted the potential for the two companies' work to complement each other in advanced connectivity.

He added that the investment supports Axiro's efforts to strengthen its presence in telecom and wireless infrastructure while expanding into emerging application areas globally.

MPower Partners Commits as Financial Investor

MPower Partners, a Japan-based global venture capital fund, participated in the round as a financial investor. The firm described the investment as part of its commitment to supporting high-growth, globally relevant deep-tech companies aligned with strong Environmental, Social, and Governance principles.

Kathy Matsui, General Partner at MPower Partners, said EdgeCortix's software-first approach and focus on performance-per-watt align closely with what she described as the Fund 2 theme of "Japan Dynamism."

Matsui characterized EdgeCortix as uniquely positioned to deliver sustainable, scalable innovation while enabling the next generation of AI applications globally.
