Centersquare Announces $1 Billion Data Center Expansion with 10 New Acquisitions Across North America
Centersquare, a leading provider of advanced colocation facilities in key markets across North America and the U.K., announced the acquisition of 10 data centers across the United States and Canada on October 2, 2025. The transactions have an enterprise value of USD 1 billion, expanding Centersquare's portfolio to 80 facilities and significantly increasing its capacity to support high-density computing workloads.
Strategic Market Expansion
The acquisitions include facilities in eight cities across two countries. Centersquare acquired two data centers in Boston and Minneapolis that the company had been operating under long-term lease agreements, along with eight additional colocation facilities in Dallas, Tulsa, Nashville, Raleigh, Toronto, and Montreal. Spencer Mullee, CEO of Centersquare, described the expansion as representing “more than just volume growth” and reflecting “the growing strength and gaining momentum of our platform.”
He stated that by adding capacity in strategic markets, Centersquare is positioning itself to capture the surging demand for trusted, high-performance infrastructure. The newly acquired sites bring substantial power and space to Centersquare's platform, house a robust base of enterprise and hyperscale customers, and provide abundant room for future expansion, according to the company's announcement.

Self-Funded Growth Strategy
Centersquare funded these transactions using cash on hand, demonstrating the company's financial strength. The Dallas-headquartered company has been growing its customer and revenue base over the last two years while developing a strong, cost-efficient operating platform. Udhay Mathialagan, CEO of Brookfield Global Data Centers and Chair of Centersquare, noted that these factors position the company well to make smart, value-accretive acquisitions with high confidence levels on revenues and costs.
The acquisitions come as enterprises are moving off-premises, reconsidering public cloud strategies, and embracing AI-driven architectures that demand radically higher power densities.
AI Infrastructure Focus
The expansion directly addresses the unprecedented demands facing data center operators as AI adoption accelerates. Centersquare has been investing heavily in solutions that meet requirements for scalable, energy-efficient, and resilient infrastructure, with a focus on supporting GPU-intensive workloads that drive generative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
Mullee emphasized that customers, from enterprises to scale, are looking for partners who can grow with them, and Centersquare is delivering the reliable power, connectivity, and engineered environments they need to accelerate innovation.
