AF Gruppen Awarded NOK 500 Million Contract for Carbon Capture Facility at Oslo Waste Plant
AF Gruppen has been selected as the contractor for the construction of a new technical building and the foundations for the carbon capture facility to be built at Hafslund Celsio's waste incineration plant in Klemetsrud, Oslo. This will be one of the world's first carbon capture facilities for waste incineration, and the project is part of the Norwegian government's Longship initiative.
Contract Details and Scope
The contract will be a main contract with Hafslund Celsio AS as the client and includes both civil and technical works. Construction is scheduled to commence in November 2025, with completion expected in Q4 2028. The contract has an estimated value of approximately NOK 500 million excluding VAT, plus options.
