ADNOC awards $1.46 billion in EPC contracts for the development of the Dalma gas field

Last Updated on 08th January 2024

The Dalma gas development project was awarded two engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts totaling $1.46 billion by Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC). The Dalma field is located about 190 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi and is part of the Ghasha concession, which is the world's largest offshore sour gas project.

National Petroleum Construction Co. received Package A of the two Dalma EPC contracts, which is worth $514 million. In the Hair Dalma, Satah, and Bu Haseer fields, it covers the EPC of four offshore wellhead towers, pipelines, and umbilicals.

Package B, worth $950 million was awarded to a joint venture between Técnicas Reunidas and Target Engineering and involves the EPC of gas conditioning infrastructure for gas dehydration, compression, and associated utilities on Arzanah Island, which is roughly 80 kilometers from Abu Dhabi.

Both contracts are projected to be completed in 2025, allowing the Dalma field to produce roughly 340 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. At Dalma, ADNOC has placed advanced orders for long-lead products and built seven development wells.
