Bikaner Solar Power Project Location
The 5000-acre solar park is being constructed near the village of Banderwala in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The location lies in one of the highest solar yield areas in the country.

Bikaner Solar Power Project Details
SJVN achieved financial closure for the project in December 2022. TPSS (Tata Power Solar Systems) was awarded the EPC contract to build the solar farm on a turnkey basis.TPSS will also procure land required for the project.
SJVN bagged the Bikaner Solar Power Project under CPSUS (Central Public Sector Undertaking Scheme) Phase-II, Tranche-III (Government Producer Scheme) through competitive bidding. SJVN has already received Letter of Intent from the JKPCL (Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Limited) and RUVNL (Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited) for possible PPAs (Power Purchase Agreement).
SJVN CEO Mr Nandlal Sharma has iterated that the Bikaner solar facility will produce 2,455 million units in its first year of operation. In the course of 25 years, the facility is likely to produce around 56,838 million units. It is anticipated that the project will cut carbon emissions by 2,874,344 tons.
On 31st March 2025, SJVN announced successful completion of trail run of 241.77 MW capacity in the phase 1 of the 1000 MW project. The entire project is expected to be completed and commissioned by September 2025. This project will be connected to the 400/220 kV substation Bikaner-II (near Bikaner).
