Vestas has booked two firm orders totalling 614 MW for wind farm projects in Western Australia, adding a substantial tranche of capacity to the Danish turbine manufacturer's order book and reinforcing its position in one of its key markets.

Two orders, two customers

The orders cover a combined 99 V162-6.2MW EnVentus wind turbines and include 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreements, according to information published by the company. The contracts form part of Vestas' Q3 2026 order intake.

The larger of the two orders comes from Atmos Renewables, which has ordered 78 V162-6.2MW turbines for the 484MW Parron Maam Marang Farm. The second order comes from Foresight Group, which has ordered 21 of the same turbine model for the 130MW Kondinin Wind Farm. For both projects, turbine delivery is planned for 2027, with commissioning scheduled for 2028.

Vestas said the EnVentus turbines will be tailored to local site conditions, an approach the company has previously applied across its global project portfolio.

Long-term service commitment

The inclusion of 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreements with both orders represents a significant long-term service commitment attached to the turbine supply deals. The agreements will run alongside the delivered machines well beyond the 2028 commissioning dates scheduled for both wind farms.

Company response

Purvin Patel, Regional President Asia Pacific at Vestas, commented on the significance of the orders for the Australian market.

The turbines

The V162-6.2MW is part of Vestas' EnVentus platform, the technology family deployed across both winning projects. Each of the 99 machines ordered across the two sites has a rated capacity of 6.2 MW.

The turbine platform's suitability for Australian site conditions was highlighted in the company's announcement of the orders, with the machines to be tailored to local conditions at each location.

Order intake context

The two Australian orders arrive as part of Vestas' Q3 2026 order intake, the company confirmed. The announcement of the 614 MW total was published on the Vestas website on 30 September 2026.

The orders follow a series of other announcements by Vestas in the preceding days. On 29 September 2026, the company announced a new order in Japan. On 28 September 2026, it announced new orders for a total of 65 MW.

Earlier in September, Vestas announced a 198 MW addition to its Q3 order intake on 22 September 2026, alongside a new order in Germany announced the same day, and three new orders totalling 119 MW on 16 September 2026.

September also saw Vestas introduce the V182-7.2MW turbine, announced on 21 September 2026 as enhancing energy production and improving business case certainty.

On 22 September 2026, the company announced it had won its first order with the new V182-7.2MW turbine, for a project in Sweden, which it described as confirming the market-readiness of its latest turbine.

Project details

The 484 MW Parron Maam Marang Farm, ordered by Atmos Renewables, will host 78 V162-6.2MW turbines. Multiplying out to the project's stated capacity, the site represents the larger share of the combined 614 MW total secured by Vestas in the two contracts.

The 130MW Kondinin Wind Farm, ordered by Foresight Group, will host the remaining 21 turbines. Both projects are located in Western Australia, according to the announcement.

Delivery of turbines to both sites is planned for 2027, with commissioning at both projects scheduled for 2028, meaning the two wind farms are following parallel construction timelines despite their difference in scale and their separate ownership by Atmos Renewables and Foresight Group respectively.

Customer base

The two orders bring together two separate customers in a single announcement. Atmos Renewables is the ordering party for Parron Maam Marang, while Foresight Group is the ordering party for Kondinin. Both customers selected the same turbine model, the V162-6.2MW EnVentus, for their respective projects, and both secured the same 30-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreements as part of their contracts.
