The UP government plans to provide 10 more land parcels in the Noida-Yamuna Expressway region to develop it into India's data center hub. Major tech companies like Yotta, Adani Group, and Microsoft have already made investments in data centers in Noida and Greater Noida.

Under this new scheme, the government will allocate 5 acres each in sector 28. Over 50 acres of land are allotted in total. The state aims to invest around USD 2.4 billion to develop a data center hub with a total IT capacity of 250 MW.

Currently, Yotta, the Adani Group, and Microsoft have been allocated land for data centres in Noida and Greater Noida.

Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway is fast emerging as a business hub because of the upcoming international airport in Jewar. Sify Infinite Spaces and Jackson Ltd. were allocated 5 acres each in sector 28.

Emerging Data Center Hub: Noida

Noida's emergence as a data center hub in India is an exciting development with significant potential. Noida lies in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), offering proximity to a large consumer base and access to skilled IT professionals. The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a dedicated data center policy with incentives like land allocation, tax breaks, and streamlined approvals.

Hiranandani Group built Noida’s first data center facility on 20 acres of land in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park 5.

Apart from this, MNCs like Microsoft, MAQ, and the Adani Group have acquired lands for setting up data parks. The Adani group is planning to invest USD 889 million for two data center facility projects in Noida. The project will create over 3,700 job opportunities.

Microsoft has acquired 15 acres of land in Sector 145. The company will invest USD 214 million to set up a data center facility park. The unit will employ around 3,500 people.
