Skanska (a multinational construction and project development company) has entered into a contract with atNorth (a data center operator) to construct an expansion to the FIN02 data center facility in Espoo, Finland, valued at USD 117.31 million. The contract will be recorded in Skanska's Nordic order bookings for the second quarter of 2026.

Project Scope and Scale

The expansion project involves the construction of a new five-story building that will house data halls and office space. The total footprint of the expansion covers approximately 11,200 square meters.

The scope of work includes fit-out work for the data center in addition to the structural build. Once the expansion is complete, the gross capacity of the entire FIN02 facility will reach 45 megawatts.

The contract builds upon an existing relationship between the two companies. Skanska and atNorth had previously agreed to build the core and shell of the expansion building, and the new contract extends that work to include the full fit-out phase of the project.

Construction Timeline

Construction work on the Espoo expansion began in April 2026, with core and shell work underway alongside preparatory work for the fit-out phase. The completed data center expansion is expected to be handed over in the third quarter of 2027.
