JKPCL (Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Limited) and RUVNL (Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited) have given consent to buy 600 MW and 500 MW of power from SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) via a Letter of Intent. The tariff for the power purchase has been fixed at INR 2.57/kWh from the upcoming solar power plant project in Bikaner. The plant can produce 1000 MW of power once it starts operation.

SJVN's CEO Nand Lal Sharma said that PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) will be signed by SGEL (SJVN Green Energy Limited). SGEL is developing a 1000 MW solar project in Bikaner. SJVN awarded an EPC Contract worth USD 661 million to Tata Solar Power Systems Limited. The Bikaner solar plant project is anticipated to produce 2,455 million units in its inaugural year and a cumulative total of approximately 56,838 million units over 25 years. This initiative will also result in a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, contributing to a decrease of [insert specific number] tonnes.

SJVN  has previously signed an MoU with the government of Rajasthan for developing 10 GW renewable energy project parks within the state. Currently, the project portfolio of SJVN is 58144 MW and the commitment of the company is to expand its renewable energy portfolio. SJVN is committed to achieving its mission of 12000 MW by 2026.

• SJVN has signed a power purchase agreement with the Nepal Electricity Authority for the sale of electricity from the 900 MW Arun 3 Hydro Power Project in Nepal. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2028.
• SJVN has also signed a power purchase agreement with the Bhutan Power Corporation for the sale of electricity from the 600 MW Kholongchhu Hydro Power Project in Bhutan. The project is expected to be commissioned in 2026.
