Siemens has announced a strategic investment and exclusive partnership with Skeleton Technologies to expand its electrical infrastructure offering for AI data centers.

Unveiled on October 14, 2026, the agreement gives Siemens exclusive rights to sell and scale Skeleton’s products in the global data center market.

Managing Rapid Changes in AI Power Demand

The partnership targets sharp fluctuations in electricity demand as thousands of AI processors change workloads simultaneously. Siemens says these changes can occur within milliseconds and produce megawatt-scale swings within seconds.

Skeleton’s supercapacitors absorb rapid power fluctuations, helping protect electrical equipment and limit disturbances to the grid. Siemens intends to integrate the technology into its portfolio to support higher computing density and reduce the need for extensive facility upgrades.

Supporting Existing Facilities and Future Designs

The offering is designed for existing alternating-current infrastructure and retrofit projects, with a pathway towards future 800V direct-current architectures.

Siemens has worked with Skeleton as a technology partner since 2022 and as an investor since 2023.

Completion of the newly announced transactions remains subject to customary formalities.

Investment to Expand US Manufacturing

In a separate announcement, Skeleton said the Siemens-led investment round brings its valuation above USD 1 billion. The funding will primarily support US manufacturing expansion and research and development in Silicon Valley.

Skeleton plans to invest more than USD 200 million in operational scale-up and Silicon Valley R&D. Its expansion plans include domestic cell production, creating a US supply chain extending from individual cells to complete power systems.

Combining Materials Technology With Industrial Scale

Skeleton’s systems combine its proprietary Curved Graphene material with power electronics and controls to respond to changing AI power requirements. The company says this approach can deliver energy savings of up to 40% and double-digit improvements in GPU performance.

The partnership will combine these technologies with Siemens’ electrical infrastructure expertise to develop and commercialize power systems for next-generation AI facilities. For Skeleton, expanding production in the United States also brings manufacturing closer to major hyperscale customers.
