SANY Renewable Energy has reached a significant milestone in its European expansion, with the Zuera Autoconsumo project in Spain officially entering commercial operation.

The deployment marks the first time a Chinese 6.25 MW wind turbine has been commercially operated in Spain, with the SI-172625 turbine supplied by the Chinese manufacturer now actively generating power on the Iberian Peninsula.

A Fast-Tracked Installation in Spain

The Zuera Autoconsumo project was completed with what SANY described as exceptional execution efficiency. Turbine installation was finished in just eight days, while commissioning was completed within three days.

The project was invested in by JORGE PORK MEAT, S.L., with SANY Renewable Energy providing a one-stop service covering equipment supply, transportation, and installation.

Multiple international teams worked in coordination to deliver an integrated solution across those three areas of project delivery. Following commissioning, the project will generate green electricity for self-consumption and local utilization. SANY's local service team will be responsible for full life-cycle operation and maintenance of the installation going forward.

Technology Validated Before European Entry

The SI-172625 turbine at the center of the Zuera Autoconsumo project did not arrive in Spain without a track record. According to SANY, the turbine had undergone long-term operational verification at multiple wind farms in China before the company pursued overseas markets.

During that period, its availability, power generation performance, and environmental adaptability were tested under what the company described as demanding conditions.

SANY stated that winning the trust of European customers further demonstrates the reliability and competitiveness of its wind power technology. The company characterized the Spain deployment as a natural outcome of a deepening international expansion rather than a speculative market entry.

Fitting Into a Broader Global Push

The Zuera Autoconsumo project represents one piece of a significantly larger global strategy that SANY Renewable Energy has been executing over recent years.

The company stated that its overseas business has expanded rapidly over the past two years, and that in 2025 its overseas order intake ranked among the top three Chinese wind turbine manufacturers.

The company's international footprint now spans several regions. SANY cited proven performance in the extreme climate conditions of Kazakhstan, customized solutions delivered for wind projects in Latin America, and now the self-consumption model pioneered through the Spain project. Benchmark projects across Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America have already entered operation, the company said.

Overseas order intake ranking in the top three among Chinese manufacturers in 2025 was cited as further evidence of the pace at which its international business has grown.
