PowerX, Inc. has received an order from Daiwa Energy Co., Ltd. for 40 units of its Mega Power 2700A grid-scale battery energy storage system, totaling 109.7 MWh in capacity, which is destined for an extra-high-voltage battery storage project being developed by ENEOS Power Corporation in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Project Overview and Timeline
The new energy storage facility will be constructed on the grounds of the ENEOS Group's Shimizu Oil Terminal, located in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. Construction is planned to begin in January 2027, with the facility scheduled to commence operation within fiscal year 2028.
ENEOS Power Corporation, headquartered in Minato City, Tokyo, and led by Representative Director and President Yasushi Onoda, is serving as the project operator. Daiwa Energy Co., Ltd. is handling engineering, procurement, and construction responsibilities.
System Specifications and Storage Capacity
The order covers 40 units of the Mega Power 2700A, a grid-scale battery energy storage system developed and manufactured by PowerX at its facility in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture. Each unit is housed in a 20-foot ISO-standard container and uses lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry.
Individual units carry a nominal storage capacity of 2,742 kWh and a rated capacity of 2,468 kWh. Across all 40 units, the total nominal storage capacity comes to 109.7 MWh, an amount PowerX equates to the daily electricity consumption of approximately 10,300 average Japanese households. The installation will deliver a power conversion system output of 50 MW.

Grid Stabilization and Renewable Energy Goals
According to PowerX, the facility is designed to operate in connection with the power grid serving the Chubu area of Japan. By cycling between charging and discharging states, the installation is intended to help stabilize the balance of electricity supply and demand across the region. The company also stated that the project is aimed at supporting the further expansion of renewable energy in the Chubu area.
PowerX, headquartered in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, and led by Director, President, and CEO Masahiro Ito, emphasized that the company intends to continue contributing to power grid stabilization as Japan expands its renewable energy capacity. The company noted that its battery energy storage systems are developed and manufactured domestically in Japan.
Financial and Disclosure Context
PowerX noted that revenue associated with this project has already been included in the Signed Orders for fiscal year 2027 that were presented in the company's financial results briefing materials, which were disclosed on August 14, 2026.
The company clarified that the public announcement of the order was made once agreement on disclosure had been reached with the customer, and that the timing of the press release does not necessarily correspond to any requirement for timely financial disclosure. PowerX is listed on the Japanese securities market under code 485A.
