Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Inc. has completed the sale of the Golden South Wind Energy Project, Saskatchewan's largest operating wind facility, to Concord Green Energy, the renewable energy arm of Concord Pacific Group.

The transaction, announced sees the 200 MW wind project near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, change hands while its existing operator, Potentia Renewables Inc., remains in place to manage day-to-day operations.

A Major Asset Changes Hands in Saskatchewan

The Golden South Wind Energy Project has been a fixture on Saskatchewan's grid since it entered commercial operation in March 2022. The facility comprises 50 turbines and carries a generating capacity of 200 MW, enough to supply renewable power to up to 100,000 homes. Situated near Assiniboia in the Rural Municipalities of RM 72 and RM 73, the project holds the distinction of being the province's largest operating wind project.

Power Sustainable acquired Golden South through its renewable energy infrastructure platform, Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Inc., after the project reached commercial operation.

Throughout that period, Potentia Renewables Inc., an indirect wholly owned affiliate of Power Sustainable, has handled the operational side of the project. That arrangement will continue following the sale, with Potentia retaining its operational role under the new ownership of Concord Green Energy.

Continuity of Operations Under New Ownership

One of the notable features of this transaction is that the change in ownership will not disrupt the management structure at the project level. Ben Greenhouse, CEO of Potentia Renewables Inc., emphasized that landowners, SaskPower, and the surrounding communities should expect no change in the team responsible for running the facility.

"Golden South has been part of Potentia's portfolio since it began generating power in 2022, and we're proud of what the project has delivered for Saskatchewan's grid and for the communities in RM 72 and RM 73," Greenhouse said.

"Potentia will continue to manage day-to-day operations at Golden South, so landowners, our SaskPower partners and the local community can expect the same team and the same commitment to safe, reliable performance going forward."

The retained operational arrangement reflects the structure that Power Sustainable had established for the asset from the outset, combining Potentia's operating expertise with PSEI's active portfolio management capabilities.

Capital Recycling and Portfolio Strategy

For Power Sustainable, the sale of Golden South is consistent with what the firm describes as a disciplined approach to active portfolio management and capital recycling. Pierre-Olivier Perras, Managing Partner at PSEI, framed the transaction as an opportunity to realize value from a high-quality operating asset and redeploy that capital into new investments.

"Golden South has become an important operating wind asset for Saskatchewan, and we are proud of the Potentia team's contribution to the project and the province," Perras said.

"This transaction highlights the quality of the asset and reflects our disciplined approach to active portfolio management and capital recycling, enabling us to reinvest in new opportunities and continue to scale our platform."

Power Sustainable operates as a multi-platform alternative asset manager investing across what it describes as core sectors of the real economy undergoing structural change, including energy, food, mobility, connectivity, and the built environment.

The firm is a subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada, which trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker POW and is described as an international management and holding company focused on financial services in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Concord Green Energy Expands Its Canadian Portfolio

The buyer, Concord Green Energy, is the renewable energy division of Concord Pacific Group and describes itself as a Canadian owner, operator, and developer of renewable energy infrastructure.

The company is active across wind, solar, hydroelectric, and energy-storage projects throughout Canada. Its combined operating portfolio and projects currently under development represent more than one gigawatt of renewable energy capacity across the country.

The addition of Golden South, at 200 MW, represents a substantial addition to Concord Green Energy's operational holdings and reinforces its presence in the wind energy segment. The company has not disclosed the financial terms of the acquisition.

Potentia's Broader Role

Potentia Renewables Inc. is described as a fully integrated developer and operator of renewable energy assets. Its continued involvement at Golden South following the ownership transfer underscores the company's role not only as a developer but as a long-term operational partner for assets within the Power Sustainable ecosystem and, in this case, for an asset that has now transitioned to external ownership.

The transaction represents the culmination of a development-to-sale cycle that Power Sustainable used Golden South to demonstrate, from commercial operation through active ownership to a value-realizing exit, while preserving operational continuity through Potentia's retained management responsibilities.
