The PNE Group has recorded another success in Poland, with its Polish subsidiary, PNE Polska, selling a wind farm project in the southwest of the country to a worldwide operating energy utility.

The project, known as "Karolew," will consist of twenty-one wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 153 megawatts (MW). The sale marks the third project transaction completed by PNE Polska within the year, according to the company.

Project Details and Development Timeline

The Karolew wind farm is located in the southwest of Poland and is planned to comprise twenty-one wind turbines. Together, the turbines will provide a total installed capacity of 153 MW.

Under the terms outlined by the PNE Group, PNE Polska will continue to develop the project through to the ready-to-build stage. Ready-to-build status is scheduled for 2029, and commissioning of the wind farm is planned for 2031. The buyer is described as an energy utility that operates worldwide.

Third Sale Within a Year

The Karolew transaction is the third project sale for PNE Polska in the current year. The announcement describes it as "PNE Polska completes the sale of its third project this year," and the company characterizes the deal as a further success for the PNE Group in the Polish market.

Holger Gallas, CEO of PNE Polska, commented on the transaction in the company's statement. "We are pleased to have sold another project to a major investor this year," he said. "This further transaction underlines the high quality of our project development activities and the confidence that international partners place in our expertise and reliability."

Poland as a Core Market for PNE

Roland Stanze, COO of PNE AG, pointed to the strategic significance of the Polish market for the group. "The third project sale within one year demonstrates the strength of our activities in Poland and confirms the strategic importance of this market for the PNE Group," he said.

Stanze added that Poland remains one of PNE's core markets in light of the continued dynamic growth of renewable energies. According to him, the country "offers attractive opportunities to further expand our international presence there."
