Nordex Group (Wind turbine Manufacturer) has received new orders from Westfälisch-Niedersächsische Energie GmbH & Co. KG (renewable energy developer) totaling 82 MW for the supply and installation of twelve N175/6.X wind turbines in Germany's district of Höxter, the Hamburg-headquartered manufacturer announced on May 19, 2026.

Order Scope and Project Breakdown

The contracts cover twelve N175/6.X turbines to be deployed across three separate projects in the Höxter district of North Rhine-Westphalia. The largest of the three is the Dringenberg project, which will host seven turbines.

The Gehrden Ost project will receive three turbines, while the Gehrden Fölsen extension project accounts for the remaining two. Each turbine will be installed at a hub height of 179 meters, and the combined capacity of all three projects reaches 82 MW.

In addition to equipment supply and installation, the contracts include Premium Service agreements covering all twelve turbines for a period of 20 years. Construction work across the three sites is scheduled to begin in mid-2027.

A Continuing Partnership with WNE

The new orders represent the latest chapter in what both companies describe as a long-standing cooperation. As recently as March 2026, WNE commissioned Nordex to supply three N175/6.X turbines for the Marienmünster-Altenbergen wind farm.

That project marked a milestone in the partnership, as it was the first time WNE deployed the N175/6.X model at a hub height of 199 meters, compared to the 179-meter configuration chosen for the three Höxter district projects now announced.

Alexander Möhring, Managing Director of Westfälisch-Niedersächsische Energie WNE, commented on the new agreements: "We are delighted to be able to make another important contribution to the energy transition in Europe together with Nordex. This project underscores our successful partnership and our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable energy projects."

Felipe Villalon Waldburg-Zeil, Director Sales Region Central at Nordex Group, said of the orders: "The N175/6.X turbines stand out thanks to their advanced technology and enable our customers to generate wind power reliably and efficiently. We greatly value our long-standing partnership with WNE and are pleased to further advance the energy transition through these new projects and innovative technology."

The N175/6.X Platform

The N175/6.X sits within Nordex's product portfolio, which is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW-plus power classes. The company has designed its turbine range to meet the requirements of markets with limited available space and regions where grid capacity is constrained.

The N175/6.X has now appeared in multiple WNE projects in North Rhine-Westphalia, confirming the model's role as a central offering in Nordex's German order pipeline.

Nordex Group Background
