The Nordex Group has received new orders from wind energy companies ENOVA and BMR energy solutions for the supply and installation of 30 wind turbines with a combined capacity of more than 197 MW at four sites across Germany, the Hamburg-based manufacturer announced on 2 July 2026.

The contracts span projects in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia, and all include long-term Premium Service agreements running for 20 years.

Four Projects Across Three German States

The largest single project in the package is a 68 MW repowering scheme in Boldecker Land, Lower Saxony, where ENOVA will deploy ten Nordex N163/6.X turbines. Installation is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with commissioning planned for early 2028.

In Schleswig-Holstein, ENOVA has also ordered six N149/5.X turbines from Nordex with a combined capacity of 34.2 MW for a separate wind farm. Construction at that site is scheduled to start in early 2028, with commissioning targeted for mid-2028.

The remaining two projects are located in North Rhine-Westphalia and were originally developed by BMR energy solutions. The Nettetal project, which BMR subsequently sold to ENOVA, will see Nordex supply five N163/6.X turbines. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2027, with commissioning planned for early 2028.

The fourth project, Breberen, is structured as a partnership between ENOVA and BMR energy solutions. Described as a repowering project, it involves the replacement of existing wind turbines with nine N163/6.X units, with the stated aim of increasing electricity production and making more efficient use of the site. Installation work at Breberen is also set to begin in October 2027, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.

A Dual Partnership Anchored in Repowering

The order package reflects Nordex's deepening relationships with both developers simultaneously. Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Europe at the Nordex Group, described the dual engagement as significant.

"We have built a long-standing and trusting relationship with BMR, which we have successfully developed further through numerous projects. We are therefore all the more pleased to now also implement more joint projects with ENOVA again and to further expand our business relationship," he said. "The fact that both partners are relying on our technology and service expertise for these projects is a strong sign of confidence for us."

Hendrik Böschen, Chief Operations Officer of ENOVA, said the projects represent a milestone for the company's portfolio development in Germany. "Together with Nordex and BMR energy solutions, we are bringing demanding projects into implementation in a cooperative, efficient, and fast manner. The fact that we are driving several projects of this scale forward in parallel underscores ENOVA's operational strength and scalability in the German wind energy market," he said.

ENOVA's Growth Ambitions and Portfolio Scale

ENOVA operates as a developer, investor, service provider, and operator within Germany's wind energy sector. The family-owned company currently holds 1 GW in its own portfolio and states that it supplies approximately one million households with green electricity. By the end of 2030, ENOVA has set a target of building a portfolio of 3 GW and growing its assets under management to USD 5.73 billion.

The company is also active in extending the working life of existing turbines through refurbishment of spare parts, replacement of major components, and broader service offerings.

BMR energy solutions, headquartered in Geilenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia, operates primarily as a project developer in western Germany. The company has accumulated experience in the development, realisation, and implementation of onshore wind farms and positions itself as a partner for municipalities, landowners, and technology providers.

Nordex's Industrial and Market Position

Nordex has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since its founding in 1985. The company generated consolidated sales of approximately USD 8.70 billion in 2025 and currently employs more than 11,100 people. Its manufacturing network spans factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India and the United States.

The company's product portfolio is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW-plus class, targeting markets characterised by limited available land and constrained grid capacity. Nordex SE is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX indices of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The German onshore wind market has become an increasingly important arena for repowering activity as developers seek to extract greater output from established sites rather than securing new land.

Two of the four projects announced in this latest order round involve the replacement of older turbines with more powerful modern units, a trend that aligns with broader policy and commercial pressures facing the German energy transition.
