The Nordex Group (wind turbine manufacturer) has won a new 110MW wind energy order in Türkiye from long-standing customer Eksim Enerji A.Ş. (Independent Power Producer), covering the supply and installation of 16 N175/6.X turbines at a high-altitude site in the Balıkesir province, the Hamburg-based manufacturer announced on 26 May 2026.

Project Details and Turbine Specifications

The order covers the Balıkesir-3 wind farm, which will be located in the Sındırgı district of the Balıkesir province. The site sits at elevations ranging from 800 to 950 meters above sea level and is characterized by good wind conditions.

The 16 N175/6.X wind turbines will be mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 119 meters and will be delivered in the Cold Climate Version, a configuration designed to handle the environmental demands of such elevated terrain.

The total installed capacity of the project reaches 110MW, adding substantially to the existing wind energy infrastructure that Nordex has helped build across the country over more than a decade.

Long-Term Service Agreement Included

Beyond the hardware supply and installation work, the contract also encompasses a 10-year Premium Service Agreement. Nordex said this arrangement is intended to ensure the long-term availability and performance of the wind turbines once the farm becomes operational.

The inclusion of a decade-long service commitment reflects an increasing industry trend toward bundling operational support with initial turbine supply contracts.

A Partnership Spanning More Than 15 Years

Eksim Enerji A.Ş. is described by Nordex as a long-standing customer, with the commercial relationship dating back to 2010. The Turkish energy company currently operates a wind energy portfolio with a total installed capacity of 832.8MW, a figure that reflects the scale of investment Eksim Enerji has made in wind power over the years.

Ender Ozatay, Vice President, Region Türkiye and the Middle East of the Nordex Group, said the new order underlines the strength of a partnership built on trust and successful collaboration for more than 15 years.

Ozatay added that the N175/6.X turbine is ideally suited for the wind conditions of the Sındırgı site and ensures high energy yields over the long term. He said Nordex is proud to continue supporting customers with proven technology, local expertise, and comprehensive long-term service solutions that contribute to the country's renewable energy targets.

Türkiye Remains a Strategic Market for Nordex

Türkiye holds particular strategic importance for Nordex. The company has held the position of market leader in the country since 2017, with a market share of around 32 percent. The latest order reinforces that standing in a market where Nordex has built up considerable operational depth over many years.

All turbines to be supplied for the Balıkesir-3 wind farm are stated to be fully compatible with local content requirements in accordance with the YEKA-2025 specification.

Nordex said this compliance supports domestic manufacturing and value creation in Türkiye, a consideration that has grown increasingly significant as Turkish energy policy has placed greater emphasis on building out indigenous supply chains within the renewable energy sector.

Earlier in May 2026, Nordex also announced the start of production at a new blade manufacturing facility in Türkiye, further underlining the depth of the company's industrial commitment to the market beyond simply supplying equipment from abroad.

Nordex's Broader Position and Manufacturing Footprint

The Nordex Group has commissioned more than 64 gigawatts of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since its founding in 1985. The company generated consolidated sales of approximately 7.6 billion euros in 2025 and currently employs more than 11,100 people worldwide.

Its manufacturing network spans factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the United States. The product portfolio is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 megawatt-plus classes, which are designed to meet the requirements of countries with limited available space and regions facing constrained grid capacity.

A global service network supports the ongoing operation of installed turbines. Nordex SE is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX indices of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The Balıkesir-3 award follows a separate announcement made on 19 May 2026, in which Nordex reported receiving new orders totaling 82MW from Westfälisch-Niedersächsische Energie WNE in Germany, indicating a steady flow of incoming business across multiple European markets in the same period.

Powering Ahead: Track Every Megawatt of Opportunity Across Turkey

The energy transition unfolding across Turkey is moving faster than ever, with gigawatt-scale solar farms, gas-fired expansions, and grid modernization programs reshaping the regional power landscape at a remarkable pace. For developers, contractors, and investors, keeping pace with this momentum requires more than industry news; it demands structured, reliable project intelligence.

The Global Project Tracking (GPT) platform by Blackridge Research is built precisely for this challenge, aggregating and organizing power sector project data across Turkey into a single, continuously updated resource. Whether you are monitoring early-stage developments or tracking contracts already in execution, the platform gives your team the visibility needed to act with confidence.

From utility-scale renewables to transmission infrastructure, missing a key project milestone or tender window can mean losing ground to better-informed competitors. The GPT platform ensures that your pipeline strategy is always grounded in the most current and comprehensive data available across the Turkish power market.
