The Nordex Group has secured three new wind energy orders in the United States totaling 484 megawatts, the Hamburg-based turbine manufacturer announced on June 22, 2026, adding to what the company described as accelerating commercial momentum in the North American market.

Order Breakdown

The three contracts span two turbine models from Nordex's onshore portfolio. The first order covers 32 turbines of the N133/4.8 type, amounting to approximately 154 megawatts of total installed capacity.

The remaining two orders combine for approximately 350 megawatts and consist of 56 turbines from the N163/5.X series. Together, the three orders account for 88 turbines and 484 megawatts of new capacity commitments.

Nordex did not disclose the names of the three customers or the specific project locations. The company similarly withheld the project names, which is consistent with how many wind developers handle pre-construction announcements.

Executive Commentary

Manav Sharma, CEO of Nordex North America, framed the three contracts as evidence of sustained customer confidence in the company's technology and operational capabilities in the region.

"These projects clearly demonstrate the trust our customers place in Nordex technology and execution capabilities," Sharma said. "They are a clear signal that our momentum in the region continues to accelerate. With our proven turbine technology and local supply chain, we remain well positioned to support our customers in delivering large-scale wind projects across North America."

Sharma's reference to a local supply chain points to the company's existing U.S. manufacturing presence, which forms part of a broader global production network that includes factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the United States.

Company Profile and Scale

The Nordex Group has commissioned more than 64 gigawatts of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since its founding in 1985. In 2025, the company reported consolidated sales of approximately USD 8.71billion. The group currently employs more than 11,100 people worldwide.

Nordex's product portfolio is concentrated on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 megawatt and above class range. The company says these turbines are specifically engineered to address the requirements of markets characterized by limited land availability and constrained grid infrastructure. A global service network supports turbine operations after installation.

Nordex SE is publicly listed on the MDAX and TecDAX indices of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the ISIN DE000A0D6554.

Context Within the U.S. Wind Market

The 484-megawatt order package represents a notable single announcement for a market that has faced a complex regulatory and policy environment in recent years. Large-scale onshore wind development in the United States has continued to draw significant investment from both domestic and international turbine suppliers competing for project commitments.

The N163/5.X model, which accounts for the larger share of the newly announced megawatts at approximately 350 megawatts across 56 units, is part of Nordex's Delta4000 platform. The N133/4.8, covering the remaining 154 megawatts across 32 units, represents a smaller rotor diameter configuration within the same general turbine class range.

The announcement did not include projected installation timelines, delivery schedules, or financial terms associated with any of the three contracts.
