Jepri Group Signs an MoU to Develop $3.6 Billion Green Hydrogen Production Facility in Ceara State, Brazil

The government of Brazil’s Ceara state has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jepri Group for the development of a green hydrogen project. The green hydrogen production facility will be situated in CIPP (Ceara’s Pecem Industrial Port Complex). The facility is expected to produce approximately 1.2 million metric tons of clean fuel annually, with an investment of around USD 3.6 billion.

Construction is projected to commence in 2025, and the site is expected to start producing green hydrogen by 2027. This marks the 35th Memorandum of Understanding that the Ceara government has signed with a private business involved in the state's green hydrogen production. The state anticipates an investment of approximately USD 17.9 billion to create 80,000 jobs by 2030. By 2030, the CIPP hopes to produce 6 GW of energy along with 1 million tons of green hydrogen.
