Greenzo Energy India Limited has received a major project from Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India’s largest stainless-steel producer, for the establishment of a green hydrogen plant at JSL’s Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, Odisha.
Project Scope and Capacity
The order covers the supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of an advanced electrolyzer-based facility along with complete balance of plant systems. Scheduled for delivery within six months of contract signing, the plant is designed to produce 472,409 kilograms of green hydrogen annually, equivalent to 0.47 kilotonnes per annum (KTPA).
The design allows future scalability up to 1.5 KTPA, supporting JSL’s long-term decarbonisation roadmap. The hydrogen output will be utilized in critical processes, such as the Bright Annealing Line and the Bell Furnace, enabling Jindal Stainless to gradually transition toward green steel production and reduce its overall carbon emissions.
Technology and Innovation
Greenzo’s Managing Director, Sandeep Agarwal, stated that the order demonstrates trust in the company’s indigenous hydrogen technology solutions. “Our electrolyzer systems are designed for efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Featuring India-developed bipolar stack technology, the system ensures 99.99999% hydrogen purity at 30 bar pressure, with integrated SCADA and AI-based automation for real-time optimization and predictive diagnostics,” he noted.
The project also includes operational support and training, with thirty days of on-site instruction for JSL’s technical team and eleven months of virtual guidance to ensure seamless integration and long-term plant efficiency.
