FlexGen Power Systems, a US-based provider of battery energy storage software and services, has announced the acquisition of Clean Energy Services, a provider of battery energy storage system (BESS) and utility-scale solar photovoltaic services. The acquisition was announced on April 10, 2026.

Strategic Integration and Service Enhancement

The acquisition will create an integrated model designed to accelerate FlexGen's project delivery, enhance system performance, and strengthen long-term asset reliability for customers.

The deal supports industry-leading system availability by adding Clean Energy Services' commissioning and lifecycle service teams to FlexGen's operations.

The acquisition expands FlexGen's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partner program to include Clean Energy Services' authorized service provider capabilities, complementing the existing software-focused OEM relationships.

Clean Energy Services' solar servicing expertise enhances the FlexGen HybridOS Solar PPC offering, enabling more comprehensive support for solar and hybrid assets.

Kelcy Pegler, CEO of FlexGen, stated that demand for reliable, high-performance power is accelerating and customers need partners who can deliver at scale. "The addition of CES strengthens our service platform and reinforces our leadership in energy storage technology," Pegler said.

Operational Structure and Customer Continuity

Following the acquisition, Clean Energy Services will operate as CES, a subsidiary of FlexGen. All existing Clean Energy Services customers will continue to receive services from CES without disruption or change, according to the media release announcing the transaction.

Remote Operations Centers and Monitoring Capabilities

Clean Energy Services will continue to operate its remote operations center in Houston, Texas, which monitors over 1 gigawatt of solar capacity and 4.5 gigawatt-hours of batteries. FlexGen will maintain its remote operations center in Durham, providing 24/7 monitoring, root-cause analysis, and field service dispatch capabilities.

The combined operations will leverage both companies' monitoring and service capabilities to provide comprehensive support for energy storage and solar assets across their customer base.
