European Energy Extends Technical Asset Management Deal With Enea Nowa Energia Across Six Polish Wind Farms

European Energy (renewable energy company) has renewed its asset management agreement with Enea Nowa Energia, the Polish subsidiary of energy group Enea, to continue providing technical management services for six wind farms in Poland totalling more than 83 megawatts of installed capacity.

The extension carries the arrangement through to the end of 2027 and builds on a working relationship that took shape after Enea Nowa Energia completed its acquisition of the Zephyros wind portfolio in 2025.

The Portfolio and Its Origins

The six wind farms covered under the agreement are Liskowo, Kołobrzeg, Siemyśl, Białogard, Grzmiąca, and Drawsko II. Their individual installed capacities are 38.8 megawatts, 19.25 megawatts, 6.3 megawatts, 7.875 megawatts, 6 megawatts, and 5.25 megawatts, respectively, bringing the combined total to more than 83 megawatts.

Enea Nowa Energia acquired the assets in May 2025 as part of the Zephyros transaction, which represented a divestment from European Energy's side. Despite selling the portfolio, European Energy continued to manage the technical operation of the wind farms following the change of ownership.

The company had originally developed the assets and drew on that background to maintain continuity of management after the sale. The newly extended agreement formalises the continuation of those services for a further period running to the close of 2027.

Scope of Services Under the Agreement

The technical asset management services European Energy will continue to provide cover a broad range of operational functions. These include operational oversight, performance monitoring, contractor management, maintenance planning, and reporting. The agreement also encompasses support for the technical and commercial performance of the assets throughout their operational phase.

According to the company, its approach combines operational data, technical expertise, and local market knowledge to assist asset owners in managing renewable energy projects over their operational lifetimes.

The arrangement positions European Energy as a single partner capable of supporting investors and utilities across multiple aspects of wind farm operation in Poland.

Strategic Significance for European Energy

Jacob Saust Johansen, Executive Vice President and Head of Asset Management and Operations at European Energy, said the extension demonstrates the value of combining project development expertise with long-term operational capabilities.

He noted that asset management teams work closely with asset owners to support performance, reliability, and the long-term operation of renewable energy projects.

The company has described the renewal as reflecting an increased strategic focus on providing asset management services for renewable energy assets across Europe.

European Energy has expanded its asset management activities alongside its development and construction business and now provides services to both its own portfolio and third-party asset owners.

Its Asset Management and Operations division operates across multiple European markets and covers wind, solar, battery energy storage, and hybrid projects.

Poland as a Key Market

Poland holds a defined position within European Energy's broader European strategy. The company has developed, constructed, and divested renewable energy projects in the country over several years, and the extension with Enea Nowa Energia is described as reinforcing its operational presence there.

By retaining the technical management role on assets it originally developed, European Energy maintains an active footprint in the Polish renewable energy market even following divestment of ownership.

The agreement also reflects the continued commercial relationship between European Energy and Enea Nowa Energia following the 2025 Zephyros transaction.

Rather than marking a clean separation between developer and owner, the arrangement illustrates a model in which the original developer continues to play a defined operational role after assets change hands.

Broader Context for Asset Management in Renewable Energy

European Energy noted in its announcement that asset management is playing an increasingly important role in maximising energy production and maintaining asset value as renewable energy portfolios continue to grow across Europe.

The company's positioning as a provider of these services to third-party owners alongside its own portfolio reflects a broader trend in the sector, where developers seek to monetise operational expertise beyond the development and construction phases of a project.

The extension of technical management responsibility for the six Polish wind farms through the end of 2027 extends European Energy's involvement with assets it brought to operation, while providing Enea Nowa Energia with continuity of service from a team already familiar with the specific characteristics and history of each site.

Powering Smarter Decisions Across Poland's Energy Landscape

As Poland accelerates its transition toward cleaner, more resilient energy infrastructure, the pace of power sector development has never been more demanding to follow. Staying ahead of the competition means knowing where investment is flowing, which tenders are live, and which contracts have just been awarded, before your rivals do.
